The Hotel Gambetta is located in a very busy pedestrian street and at one minute from the tramway. This fantastic location might be a problem if you need a hotel just to sleep: crowds of happy people laughing and shouting by night stroll around and easily wake you up at midnight and even later. My room was clean, very simple... More

This is my second time at Gambetta. The reason why choosing it again is its marvelous location. It's in the very heart of Centre Ville, near the main attractions and the key transportation modalities (tram to nearby locations, bus to airport). The hotel itself is ok: very basic, not that cheap, but clean. The lift is a funny think. As... More

We spent our nights at hotel Gambetta killing mosquitoes. The walls were covered with the evidence once we got to the room. The rooms were very basic, there is a lift but it only takes you up 1 floor. There was no breakfast provided. Admittingly the location is very good. It is not very close to the train station but... Very basic room but practical and clean. Great central location, everywhere walkable or can use tram stop 1 minute from hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay there next time we visit Bordeaux. Recommended

This is a quirky hotel. You have to go up half a floor to get the TINY lift that goes to the third floor and then climb to the fourth. The rooms are basic, the bathroom small but the bed is comfortable. We were in 48 which had a lovely view of the terracotta roof tiles in the area. I... More

Very conveniently located and newly renovated hotel. Small but nice rooms. Nice bathrooms too. Good breakfast, nothing special. Friendly staff. A great place to stay when in Bordeaux for business or pleasure.

We stayed for 4 nights for a birthday "celebration". The wine fair was on for the time we were there, which was brilliant fun, with wine "tasting" and fireworks each night. The hotel is in a good location for this and for exploring the city. There are restaurants/cafes and shops all close by, as well as the monuments/churches of note.... More

We were pleasantly surprised at the central location of this 2 star hotel. It's in the Pedestrian Shopping/Restaurant Area and most things a short walk, including the main Esplanade de Quinconces, Tourist Office and a few other interesting places. The hotel is basic with continental breakfast only, no air conditioning and the rooms are small, but then if you go... More

My cousin and I stayed here for two nights on the weekend of the May bank holiday. We chose the hotel purely for the price and location. The room was tidy, beds comfortable and we had hot water. The receptionist was very helpful, and patient, when we had to ask him for help with our room key for the third... More

We loved the location of this simple but ample hotel ! Simply furnished and newly decorated in a modern style but for value and location it cannot be beaten - service excellent with friendly and knowledgeable staff - they spoke English ! We didn't do breakfast as so many little cafés nearby at the 'gate' ( Porte dijeaux) including an... More
