This Hotel de France is great. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. They found me an extension cord when I asked, recommended excellent restaurants, and were always ready to chat if the guests wanted to. The hotel is one block from the bus we took from the airport and is centrally located - great for shopping, the opera house,... More

We enjoyed the benefits of being in a large room, with free of charge cot, for our 20 month old. The location was so central that we found interesting things to see within a few minutes walk. The central location means that there is noise at night, from people and midnight rubbish collections. However we used ear plugs and our... More

We stayed here for two nights (October 2013). Saturday was very noisy as a flat opposite decided to have a karaoke party - until 3 in the morning, so little sleep. Sunday was much quieter though. The hotel itself was small with rooms to match but as we stayed only 2 nights this wasn't a problem. Good size shower but... More

Stayed 3 nights in this small but good value central hotel (77 euro per double room per night). Rooms are very small so recommend a double even if just for one. WiFi available and breakfast which is very adequate and fresh can be brought to your room for no extra charge. Desk staff very nice and helpful - but note... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is a 2 star hotel so don't expect big rooms, lifts or other conveniences. It is very centrally located and also close enough to airport bus. It is close to shops, cafes and restaurants. It is spotlessly clean and we found the room big enough for a 2 night stay. Bathroom... More

The hotel is on a quiet side street in the middle of Bordeaux, literally 3 minutes from the main shopping street, the cathedral, and the Grand Théâtre. The room was comfortable, clean, and really cozy and had everything you need for a short stay, including a quite large bathroom (but maybe I've been in Stockholm for too long...). The free... More

We stayed two nights at the hotel de france in Bordeaux, and found it clean and pleasant. Friendly staff, but limited English, very clean and fast free wifi. It is central and by a theatre so street noise I'd to be expected. The rooms are small, but you are in Central Bordeaux, there is no lift, again normal for Bordeaux,... More

Greeted with smiles. Treated like a friend. Excellent location in the center of town. Close to wining, dining and shopping. Super comfortable bed. Room with windows and a view - 2nd floor. High speed free wifi. Free breakfast. Will always stay here when in Bordeaux.

We stayed there three nights while we toured the Grand Cru winery's of Bordeaux. It is most typical French hotel in that the rooms are on the small side, but you only sleep there so it works perfect. The hotel has a perfect, central location for also getting around downtown Bordeaux for dinner and shopping. There is no elevator so... More

Staff is great, very helpful. Breakfast is average for 8 euros paid. Great location. The bad part: stairs: we had 15 days of trip baggage, which we had to take upstairs by ourselves (ugh); Room is old, as well as the bathroom, water had a hard time to stay warm during bath.
