If you view this hotel as a B n B it is perfect. Extremely attractive decor, comfortable beds, wonderful breakfast. As a hotel, it's missing some elements. Certain 'rules' applied by the operators are difficult to understand and detract from customer comfort. Not eating in rooms on threat of a €30 fine is unusual treatment of travellers who sometimes just... More

We had a garden room on the ground floor that had its own small patio, which was lovely. The room was small, but had all the amenities you need. No room safe, so we just took valuables with us. The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood, minutes away from the city centre. Our hotel proprietors were friendly and helpful... More

We only spent one night before meeting friends. The welcome was warm and the place is stylish. We didn't eat breakfast here so I can't comment. I was in a garden room and it was very pleasant - but the bathroom area is separated by a sliding glass screen so you need to be "comfortable" with whoever you're staying with!... More

Sweet modernized hotel close to the center of Bordeaux. Room was light, airy and quiet. Only drawback here is the several flights of stairs to get to your room. Not handicapped accessible at all. Close to restaurants and shopping and walking distance to the Grand Theater.

Excellent location, a few minutes' walk from the Old town and all the sites and attractions you want to visit. We had a courtyard room : beautifully quiet, spotlessly clean, very good bed; but also very small - don't what you'd do if you had more than a couple of carry-on bags to stow away. Decor throughout is quite quirky... More

We were touring by car. G.P.S. was essential in finding this hotel, first impression was of a "door" in a row of tenements in a back street! What a surprise when we got through that door. Extremely friendly/homely reception. The hotel then opened out into a courtyard, our room was a small cabin opening onto the courtyard(recommended instead of upstairs).... More

It may have helped that we paid the little bit extra for a ground-floor room giving directly on to the garden -- but the overall atmosphere of this place is of an oasis of calm in the city. The decor is quirky, fluffy, kitschy, but all in neutral shades, so it doesn't get in the way. There is an eccentric... More

Family owned boutique hotel in a quiet side street, with the tourist information centre and public transport within easy walking distance. Hotel la Maison du Lierre (“House of the Ivy”) has a bland street exterior but inside is a real eye opener. Very tastefully decorated throughout. Our room on level two (115 Euro per night) in soft light colours was... More

Must admit when realising our room was on the top floor no lift my heart sank we were away for 2 weeks touring France and our cases were very heavy and we were getting to the end and quite frankly we were over dragging suitcases up and down stairs!!! The lovely young receptionist insisted she would carry our suitcases up... More
