Simple hotel, OK for 2stars, friendly service, OK food.
What you pay is what you get - the hotel is worth its price.
If there are other available hotels, I would not stay here. At the same time, I was not dissatisfied with anything here (except for relatively far location)

I had to stay in this hotel for 3 weeks due to professional reasons. I booked a hotel room with kitchenette but there was no fridge and the stoves do not work. On top of this, they wouldn't provide me qith cutlery or plates because, according to the nasty receptionist Alice, I should have booked my plates in advance (and...

HOTEL ALTON Bordeaux
This hotel is rated as Three stars.
There were holes in the sheets.
There is no automatic corridor lighting. For old or handicapped visitors this is a dangerous place. No real coffee at breakfast only instant. Horrible bedding. Old blankets.
Terribly overpriced.

Hotel management told us upon check-in that breakfast was included in our rate, which was substantiated by our initial purchase agreement. We even called them from our room to confirm this before we headed down for breakfast the next morning. Then upon check-in they went ahead and charged us for the breakfast. We disputed with them and the management were...

My family and I recently stayed a few nights in this hotel as part of a European holiday and found it did not live up to its claims and was very disappointing. We stayed in the “Executive Room” which was very plain and sparse and smelly. (Photos att.) I was horrified to find our fresh towels for the day were...

Stayed for week on first trip to Bordeaux. Hotel is of budget standard but comfortable. Would only recommend if rate comparable with other 2* hotels, albeit fairly comfortable. .Room large , but much space wasted with sink unit , hob and a microwave which had seen little frequent use. However, cupboards completely empty without any crockery nor even a kettle...

I booked a room at the Alton because I was visiting Bordeaux 2 university. This hotel is perfectly located for that. Could not be better. The room was vast, with a large bathroom (bath, not shower. A plus for me). There was even a small kitchen with electric plates and a fridge (unplugged). The bed was not particularly comfortable but...

Was travelling through France/Italy and booked the Alton via internet the night before. I found the hotel very clinical, almost hospital like. The rooms were ok. The hotel was about 2kms from the centre and although there was a tram stop just outside the hotel, you couldn't buy a ticket at the machine. The hotel was fine for one night.

We booked a double room through Expedia with the specific instructions that we were on our honeymoon and required a double bed. The Hotel Alton accepted this booking with these conditions, but when we arrived tried to give us two single beds.
It took us telling them that we would have our money back and go somewhere else before they...
