We stayed at the Acanthe last week as part of a package booked by Bordeaux Cycle Tours who were excellent. Our room was fine but on the first of two nights, there was a highly unpleasant pong of drains in our bathroom. We mentioned this at reception and were told that it was due to the road works that were... More

I stayed in the Acanthe Hotel for three nights during a recent stay in Bordeaux, and I would definitely consider staying there again. It is a good budget hotel just off the Place de la Bourse and near the Grand Theatre, rail lines to the Gare St. Jean and walking distance to great bars and restaurants in Bordeaux. In fact,... More

The Aacanthe is a super little place, very reasonably priced and a brilliant location right in the centre of town. This has it'sdrawbacks of course, it was noisy outside as you're about 20 yards from Place de la Bourse, and there was noise pretty much all night. Once the drunks had finally gone home, the recycling and street cleaning lorries... More

Ideal for visiting the sights of Bordeaux. Clean, friendly hotel. Book a room with air conditioning in the summer. Bit noisy first night we arrived as there was a festival going off. Breakfast good value compared to other places we stayed during our holiday. If arriving by car you need to park in a nearby underground car park which we... More

just a perfect trip, acanthi hotel is in a very good position, behind Place de la Bourse, and it is so near to restaurants and shops! Rooms are very comfortable, during the night you have silence and beds are very comfortable. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. so i can't say nothing about it. Rooms are really clean... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. We had a "comfort" room. The room was large. The bathroom was also large. However we had no view, but it gave us a very quiet room. The room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was a typical French breakfast. The bed was on the soft side, not my liking. The staff was... More

As they say in real estate, location location location and that is this places strength. Situated on Rue St Remi (restaurants galore), right behind the royal square, just a short tram ride from the train station, this is an ideal place to explore old Bordeaux. It's a charming place, well kept and enough character, service was typically French, not overly... More

I booked on the recommendation of family and it lived up to all expectations..very clean, comfortable room, great helpful staff, perfect location for getting around. The breakfast was ample and varied although fresh fruit such as apples or pears would have been perfect!..newly renovated bath was lovely although a magnifying mirror would be a nice addition as some of us don't have perfect... We have stayed in Bordeaux in a number of hotels over the years, but in none more often than the Acanthe. We choose this for its location, near the Quais, by the Place de la Bourse; near also to the Place du Parlement where there are many excellent restaurants. We choose it also for the pleasantness and efficiency of welcome... More

We stayed at the Acanthe Hotel for only one night in Bordeaux. The location was great, very close to everything in the city. Rooms were clean and wifi was available. However it was about £65 for one night which (in non peak season), given how basic the place seems a bit high. I think travellers might be able to find... More
