I'm grading on the curve for a 2-star hotel property. It is certainly not more than a 2-star property. But - it is an easy walk from the best places for dinner and the cathedral. It's also right around the corner from the Tourism Office and the Maison de Vin. We spent 2 nights in a room with 2 double... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our trip to France. Hotel de L'Opera is located in the centre of Bordeaux, opposite the Le Grand Theatre de Bordeaux. Our room was in a simple style but it was very clean and comfortable. There were double and single beds, TV, telephone and the bathroom with hairdryer in our room.... More

Hotel de l'Opera really does have a perfect location, right in the centre of Bordeaux, with all sights, shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The room was quite boxy and could have done with a lick of paint, but it was comfortable. It was quite dark but that was because we were on the top floor with a small round... More

This was on of the options given for the Bordeaux Tourism Office for a weekend plan including tour of the city and to the wine country. the location is great, near the tram, the river walk and the city attractions. Tiny rooms, but very clean, room service was great. Brakfast was adequate. The whole Tourism Office offer is a great value... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on my first visit to Bordeaux in July. The room was comfortable but very pokey. I plan to return to Bordeaux in about two years and will pay a bit more and stay at the " 4 Soeurs" around the corner -- run by the same management but more comfortable. Having said that, Opera is... Last March, we booked 2 double rooms at the Hotel de L'Opéra through Booking.com, for Friday June 3rd. I phoned the hotel 48 hours in advance to check that they had our booking and was told that it was noted. Not long before 10 pm, on the evening before we were due to leave, I received an apologetic call from... More

This hotel is spectacularly awful. Ridiculous check-in procedure, surly and unhelpful staff, tiny room, even smaller bathroom, no air conditioning, the internet didn't work and it wasn't even that cheap. You would have to be insane or a masochist to stay here. Don;t do it!

Rooms extremely small. Our room faced an airway shaft with no air circulation at all. The only reason to stay here is price and location. I would spend more next time somewhere else.

As mentioned in other reviews, check in/out is around the corner at the Hotel 4 Soeurs (about four door down from the Tourist Office). No AC, but an open window and fan were good enough to keep comfortable in late May. Only a few rooms have the great view of the Opera House, so be prepared not to get one... More

This hotel was booked for me as part of a conference in Bordeaux. My room was on the fifth top floor, very basic, but clean. Bathroom a bit smelly. Very hot right under the roof. Fan provided. Access to this very narrow hotel, squashed between two other buildings, was by keypad and key, to be obtained around the corner from... More
