We stayed at the Burdigala Hotel for 2 nights in May. I booked because of the positive reviews on trip advisor and also needed to be able to park our car but be close to the city. This hotel was wonderful. It was walking distance to town and restaurants. The staff could not do enough for you. When we walked... more

We picked the hotel as part of the Bordeaux Tourist office visitors package, which offers museum entrances, trolly passes, wine tastings and a variety of hotels. the package is a great value and very useful items. The hotel is three minutes from the Meriadeck shopping mall where you can find anything and one of the cities three trolly lines. The... more

The price of the room was a bit out of whack with what you got. The room is nice - not period but modern,. The most fustrating was that 2 plugins in my room didn't work and at the price I paid I expect perfect maintenance. The desk sent someone to look when I found the 1st didn't work, and... more

We had been staying is some rather uncomfortable accommodation elsewhere, so we thought that we would book the best hotel in Bordeaux as a treat. Although some of the guides bill this hotel as having "period" features, it is recently built and occupies a rather unprepossessing site near some unattractive modern concrete flats, reasonably close to the city centre, but... more

The friendly staff that welcomes you at Burdigala - just a 5 min walk from historical and central Bordeaux are real professionals. The surroundings of this hotel do not provide any of the rooms with a great, romantic view. If that's what you're after: go somewhere else. But you don't want to excperience this beautiful UNESCO-listed city from your hotel window... more

A reasonably good hotel - very friendly helpful staff. We were upgraded to better room for no particular reason which was very nice - as a result we had a very large room - more like a junior suite. Decor in rooms is a bit mundane - bathroom was reasonable size but was starting to show its age. Parking (by... more

Great location, hotel room was a good size big bathroom. Staff were really nice and very helpful especially Stephane who recommened restaurants and booked them for us and would always phone our room about an hour before to tell us he had booked a taxi. John in the bar was really nice also. Bordeaux is a great place to visit.... more

Really nice hotel, about 5 minutes' walk from the main shopping/tourist area. Feels central without being noisy. Excellent service all round: staff couldn't do enough for us, and it felt sincere. Our "standard" room was lovely - not massive, but certainly not too small. Good large, comfortable bed. Very clean, and good maid service - in fact I was slightly... more

We loved the location. Our friends had stayed there a few years ago and found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. The sleeping rooms were lovely. Lots of wonderful fresh crisp linen every day, towels etc. Dining room had issues when we were there in mid-April 07. Something happened and our special dinner was a mess. The general... more
