In brief: 1) Air conditioning was broken and the management initially lied about it, 2) management was unable to send me an email confirmation of my reservation and sent me an unprofessional personal email instead, and 3) key cards have serious technical issues and don't always work. But, while my room was over 30 C, at least the desk staff... More

We were very happy with the location of this hotel - very easy to find and to drive to, and in a very interesting and bustling area of Bordeaux, with lots of restaurants, etc. - and easy walking distance to the attractions of the city centre. Parking is easily found (it's a public car park under the hotel, €19 a... More

Stayed here for a business trip to Bordeaux. Check was quick. Only one lift working very slow. Room was basic but clean. Wifi signal was weak took ages to download emails. Hotel we'll located but doesn't really have anything else going for it.

We went to Burdeaux to spend the weekend, and booked this hotel trough Hotwire, so we didn’t know the name of the hotel. But if we pay for a four stars hotel we expect four starts services. Our main complaint is about the restaurant. It was just open on Friday, and the service was terrible. We had to go inside... More

This hotel had a fantastic location, right near the heart of the old part of Bordeaux and the river but in a quiet modern enclave. As usual, Mercure did not disappoint. They are always reliable. This hotel had modern, confortable, clean rooms, a bed a bit bigger than the standard French double, a very clean new bathroom, a safe big... More

Close to city center, with a nice walk along the river into the main shopping area of town. Hotel bar and restaurant were a little quiet, and closed at weekend. However in Bordeaux you are never far away from a good bar or restaurant. Rooms were clean and tidy, bed was big and comfortable with all the facilities required. Coffee... More

We only booked this hotel because our other choices couldn't do the two nights we wanted. As it was a weekend we had a good rate, but as others have found, the restaurant and bar was closed. It is easy to get to the city centre on foot or by tram and the walk along the riverbank is very pleasant.... More

We stayed one night and two full days here and while the location is not in the center part of downtown - it is a very easy 10 min walk. Furthermore, the river is essentially across the street from the hotel and there are some shops and bars just north from the hotel along the river. The tucked away location... More

A modern, comfortable hotel with spacious rooms, nice beds and bedding. A bit frayed at the edges but ok given that it is near to the centre of Bordeaux. Which, itself is a very expensive place. The shame is that given the above, the restaurant and bar are closed on Saturday nights, the car park referred to is actually a... More
