2 mins walk to Saint Jean station and airport bus. 10 mins tram ride to centre. Excellent reception staff. Great value 7 Euro breakfast. Great city. Air-conditioned bedrooms, which was essential in August - small but clean. On the negative side, station vicinity has a few beggers and feels a bit intimidating at night.

The hotel was ideally located for me: near to the airport shuttle terminus and close to the railway station but without any noise. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, explaining to me how to get around the city and get the best out of my stay (3 days) which I did.

I can't fault the staff or the location (a few mins stroll from the main station), even the decor in the public areas it fine. But, the rooms really are so small that we struggled to have more than one suitcase open at a time.

We just came back from Bordeaux and were extremely pleased at the service from Royal Saint Jean. The staff are very friendly and go out of your way to look after every request. The breakfast was terrific. Hot and cold foods and plenty. Special call out goes to Anastasia, she was so pleasant and friendly.

Staff extremely good, room small, parking is not good make sure you reserve a parking space even though it is a bit expensive, walking distance into town or tram stop outside. Bathroom extractor fan did not work at time of visit and there is no window in bathroom so extractor would have been nice for steamed from shower

Just one block from the Gare St-Jean, this mid-range hotel was clean and comfortable. We stayed on a one-night stopover in Bordeaux, but I would have stayed longer. The desk service was very friendly, and there is even a wine tasting bar at reception. The breakfast buffet had decent variety and good breads/croissants, with a cute seating area that continues... Like a previous reviewer I have upgraded my initial thoughts of 3* to 4* based on the staff! The staff here are a delight and a credit to the hotel. All were friendly and helpful and made for a great welcome to Bordeaux. The hotel itself is well presented, with a tasteful lobby/dining area and a library stocked with useful... More

Nice reasonably priced hotel almost opposite the train station. Small rooms but adequate for one night stay if you need to get to the station the next morning. Please tell lobby/bar/reception. There is a ground floor room for disabled guests.

We stayed just two nights. The room was made available to us 15 minutes before check in time which was nice. The room we were allocated was smallish with no view, I requested a change and this was done immediately. Once settled our room had everything we needed, including coffee and tea, hairdryer, even a minibar with complimentary water. The... More

Stayed for one night. Room was quite small but had been recently refurbished and was superb value for cost. Staff super friendly -all spoke fluent English - and highly efficient, always willing to help. Breakfasr options were good and we really enjoyed spending time in the bar, watching the activity outside. Other pluses include free wifi and ideal location for... More
