Just returned from a great week end in Bordeaux, we stayed in The best western grand hotel francais,on rue du Temple, it is agreat location, and right beside the main premier shopping street, also quite close to the Grand Hotel, the main square, and tourist dept. The hotel is a restored town house, beautifully kept. The staff were lovely, very...

The property is a mixed bag of rooms: poorly updated, newly renovated, view-free, street-facing, etc. The desk staff are excellent. More details follow.
There are roughly five floors of rooms. On each floor (I think they are all the same), there are 4 rooms facing the street and 4 rooms opening only to internal air shafts. Two large corner rooms...

Stayed here in July 2010. The hotel is quite difficult to find, pretty much located down a back street. The check in was smooth, we did ask for a large room but was told ''not available''. We proceeded to our room via the hotel lift, beaware this hotel lift can only accommodate 2 - 3 very small people without luggage!...

Located almost on the edge of the heart of Bordeaux city, it was a convenient spot to get to the shopping and museums in the city. Parking was a little challenge (when visiting first time) as there was no near parking garage, The nearest was probably the Grande Hommes. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic!
The only difficulty we faced on arrival at the Best Western Bordeaux was the parking but we were informed about it. The hotel explained us how to drive via the pedestrian area so we could drop our luggage at the reception and we then went to park in the public parking, 200 min away. Bordeaux downtown is quite stressy to...

We arrived in Bordeaux early afternoon by car, the hotel does not have its own car park but there is a local public car park nearby, it is a bit of a trek with bags and not great in the rain. The public areas of the hotel are well kept and check in was fairly fast and efficient but not...

According to location I don't think you can outdo this hotel. Yes, it's very average but still clean, quiet and reasonably priced. Shopping, restaurants and attractions are just outside your doorstep. If you need to go further than downtown everything is easily reachable by tram.
Breakfast was ok, the basics like yoghurt, jam, fruit and croissants - and obviously paquette.....

We recently spent 3 nights at the Grand Hotel Francais in Bordeaux.
It is a lovely hotel, very well located for shopping and all the sights of Bordeaux, and has a nice setting for breakfast.
Staff are helpful & friendly.
The one disappointment was probably of our making - we had booked the basic room for our stay and, simply...

Stayed there with my wife. Location is excellent, downtown Bordeaux but pricey for the value you get. Rooms are outdated, and charmless. Despite of the nice building everything else seems cheap, decoration is ok. On the brighter side, bed was comfortable and surroundings were ok.
We are sorry to read that you have been disappointed, although we constantly keep in mind the comfort or our customers. Therefore we are renovating our hotel every year step by step. We sincerely regret that you didn't find the room convenient.
We hope to welcome you again. You can be sure that we will do our best to make...
