This hotel is very close to tram stop Gambetta. Rooms are small, to be expected in that location but they are nicely furnished and scrupulously clean. Service is superior. Breakfast is plentiful and well presented. I returned to hotel one day to find dog poop outside the front door and when I told the front desk staff one of the... More

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were all very helpful and when we arrived early we left our luggage and checked in later in the day. By the time we arrived back in the late afternoon they had already taken our luggage to the room for us and that was a really nice touch. Their suggestions for dinner... More

The hotel has an excellent location, bordering on two pedestrian streets in the center. From the airport, bus #1 takes you straight there (Gambetta stop is 5 minute by foot) in 40 minutes. The room is comfortable size, and the breakfast is quite good. The staff is courteous and helpful. I had room 108 which was on the first floor,... More

Lovely experience, a quality hotel. Staff were great, informative, helpful and spoke excellent English. Young Charlotte stood out, helped us a lot with a door lock that initially refused to work. Chatty in a friendly way, and explained a lot of things to us. Entrance, lounge reception areas are lovely. Our room 109 had a huge comfortable super king size... More

One of the oldest hotels in Bordeaux which has had a great makeover, modern rooms and facilities. In a great position to walk to all area's of the city, including shopping, historical etc. All the features you require in the room king size beds, fridge etc.

The Best Western Grand Hotel Francais in the old town of Bordeaux was the perfect location for seeing the city! The hotel is older and has an old city charm with updated bedrooms. The interior is lovely, breakfast was more than ample, and the staff was one of the most friendly and most helpful we've encountered. It was around the... More

Stayed three nights at this surprisingly good hotel, which I booked, directly, based on price. Bordeaux is stunning and this hotel is impressive too. The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street. The taxi couldn't drop off at the door but it was only a two minute walk with luggage. From the airport it was 31 euro.... More

We enjoyed a long weekend in this perfectly situated hotel. Its got bags of old world character on a quiet side street in the middle of the old City. Comfortable, modern room. Excellent buffet breakfast including cakes which are characteristic of Bordeaux (solid and rather rubbery!)

On returning to this hotel, we found that the rooms had been updated and the entire facility was clean and quiet. The staff is especially helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good, typical of European breakfasts, and quite adequate. The exceptional quality is it's location in the historic section of Bordeaux. Pedestrianized streets, good shopping, restaurants, and transportation (tram), and... More

We are coming to Bordeaux every summer and always stay at this hotel. The rooms are small but it is common for France. Make sure you bring your lotion and the soap, there is a liquid soap at the sink and shampoo/conditioner/body wash all in one bottle in the shower, that is it. The reception lady is friendly and happy... More
