Bordeaux City has many hotels near the city center. The Mecure Chartrons on Saint-Louis is on the out skirts of the city and not in a pleasurable location. Its not the worst hotel however its further out from the "center" of Bordeaux.... not the end of the world but since its a small city, you dont want to have to walk 20 min for dinner etc. & cabs are impossible to get. Adequate hotel in a scruffy part of Bordeaux but linked to the centre by bus direct from the front door or tram a 7 minute walk away. Good food though in restaurant with a decent breakfast and mostly friendly staff.

It is a very nice hotel five minutes walk from a tram and a bus stop just outside the breakfast was alright the rooms were comfy and clean and the staff friendly

Modern typical of the Mercure chain but about 20 mins drive from the main hub and sights of Bordeaux - there are better location to stay at. Clean, modern, tidy hotel with particularly helpful reception staff and a ten minute walk to the River for bars and restaurants.
