A rare 1-star review for me on Tripadvisor. The staff woke up my 93-year old grandmother-in-law at 2:00 AM and made her get dressed and switch rooms. The staff offered little apology for the horrifying inconvenience. The next morning, the hotel management was disrespectful during communication. We were all shocked at their arrogance. You would think that by staying at... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for sharing your comment on Tripadvisor, and we’d like to apologize for the inconvenience. However let us put things in the context, we have had indeed a problem with the air extraction system. All clients have been moved from their rooms during the afternoon to the other aisle, few were out for a wedding. Therefore we... More

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Nice rooms with clean bathrooms. Hearty breakfast. Quiet surroundings. Nice way to end the day after visiting the sand dune in Arcachon Bay and the Chateau Soutard in St. Emilion.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel was relatively quiet at the end of October and obviously didn't have any major conferences on. Standard room was slightly tired (wallpaper could be renewed), but the bathroom had been refurbished to a nice standard. Overall, fairly good value for money and the restaurant was quite well priced for a hotel. About a... More

I rarely even consider giving a 5 for hotels since I spend about 150 nights a year in hotels however, these guys are doing it right. From the room to secured free underground parking. Did I mention that it also include free internet and Nespresso. Let not forget about freshly squeezed orange juice to good buffet. Only one thing left... More

The Mercure Chartrons is a good mile and a half steady walk from the centre of Bordeaux but at least in a quite area and away from the busy night life. A warm welcome greeted us and an early check in was available as we arrived early. Only a one night stay, with breakfast included, which was excellent. Will definitely... More

The hotel is located in a very interesting neighbourhood keeping quickly disappearing quaint vibes. The hotel is, though, I must say, just an average business hotel. I didn't see any door man or bellhop. The personnel are kind enough, but just as they are supposed to be, neither more nor less. The biggest downside is that this hotel is everywhere... More

This is a nice hotel in a quieter part of town. We had a very peaceful nights sleep here and found it to be close enough to walk to the centre but far enough to relax. I cannot give this hotel more than three stars, however, because of one sill mistake they made. When coming to use the 'vanity pack... More

My daughter and I stayed at the Chartrons as part of a very large tour participating in the Medoc Marathon and with chateau visits to the Medoc region.
