From previous travels, we have learned that in France the standard on B&Bs is very high and gives more value for money than hotels. Valerie and her gem of a house in the UNESCO part of beautiful Bordeaux raised the bar! You stay in a beautiful home with a hostess who is there for you and makes everything to be... More

Valérie is a wonderful host. And her home is a beautiful original 19th century Bordeaux house, with big bedrooms, high ceilings and a lovely courtyard garden. Breakfast is deliciously French and home made. Even the dog is a delight. There is a fabulous restaurant 600 metres away with a Michelin star chef. All in all, you must stay here if... More

We spent four nights at the lodge in the Kiss Room and had a fantastic experience. Valerie was welcoming and attentive throughout and her delicious breakfasts kept us fuelled up during our cycles in the day time. The room itself was comfy and attractively decorated and remained warm even during the cold April nights. Valerie was helpful with tips and... More

I just can't say enough good things about Valerie and "A Blue Lodge in Bordeaux". The room was beautifully appointed, breakfast was lovely and Valerie was so helpful with maps, bus and tram times and suggestions on places of interest to visit (with directions). If you are planning a visit to Bordeaux and looking for a great B&B, this is... More

Valerie makes you welcome here and luckily spoke a bit of English for us as we are still struggling to speak French. A walk of a few minutes will get you to a a tram stop and into town. There are no restaurants nearby so you may need to catch the tram to the city. If you have a car... More

We stayed in the Le Braiser room for 2 nights in April. The room was a delight! Clear, spacious, and in a wonderful house with very pleasant hosts. Truly a good situation. The location is within the inner city - although it is a couple of sts,on the tram to,truly get to tourist areas of the city. The trade-off here... More

Nice home with comfortable rooms in Bordeaux with a friendly host (Valerie). She was helpful with directions, tips on what to do in the city and happy to chat over a leisurely (and delicious) breakfast. Oh and she has a gorgeous pooch too! About a 20 minute walk into the main downtown area, or 5-6 stops on the tram which... More

We stayed in lodge in our short trip to Bordeaux last week and had a very nice time . Valerie , the owner made our stay very comfortable and took really good care of us at her home ( this is her real home) She is a very warm and friendly and really ready-to-help person with her suggestions and calls... We just spent 3 days in Bordeaux. Upon our arrival, Valerie greeted us at the door and we knew that we were in good hands. Our room was well appointed and clean. The bed was comfortable. Lots of hot water for showers. Very quiet neighbourhood. Breakfasts were varied and delicious. Homemade confitures were a bonus. Valerie provided us with lots... More

Just returned from our trip to France. We stayed at this B&B for two nights and we can't say enough about our wonderful stay. We stayed in one of the first floor bedrooms with our daughter who has mobility issues. The bedroom was spacious, clean, comfortable and perfect for all of us. Valerie is the perfect hostess who made sure... More
