This is the hotel that all hotels should be measured by. We parked several blocks away and walked to the hotel to get the password for the barricade. As soon as we walked in we were overtaken by the elegance and history of this hotel. I mean this is absolutely stunning from the front door all the way through the... More

This hotel is thoroughly recommended. It is located in La Petite France and an easy walk to most of what Strasbourg has to offer. We were impressed by 1) the friendliness of the staff who went out of their way to ensure our stay was a pleasant one; 2) the quality of the rooms - we were on the third... More

This was just a one night stay for our family of four, so maybe got off on the wrong foot. The hotel was fabulously located near all the sites. When we went in to drop our bags the reception almost ignored us. We booked a suite so we could all stay In the same room. The bathrooms and linens were... More

Clean, warm, and inviting. Charming and elegant decor in a perfect location. Natalie was especially helpful and anxious to meet our every need. The evening gentleman perhaps not as much. Week day rates appropriate but weekend rate was totally out of line. Breakfast was also priced expensive at 22 euros, We chose to eat elsewhere. Our front of the hotel... More

We stayed in the Bouclier d'Or for two nights at the end of March. It was the last stay of a month long tour of Europe and we wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is located in the picturesque Petite France section of Strasbourg within walking distance of all of the main sites of interest and nearby some... More

Absolutely love this quaint and luxurious little hotel, right where you want to be in Strasbourg. Furnished with beautiful antiques, the whole place is a credit to its owners and staff. All the rooms we saw were exquisite, and our least expensive one was so comfortable and charming. Excellent staff throughout, but the bar maitre d'hotel Serge was charming, helpful... More

Located in the pedestrian only area of Strasbourg. this a jewel of a hotel. We were welcomed and treated with the up most hospitality. The hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms were a pleasant mix of modern style and old world charm. The bathroom was spacious with a huge ( for Europe) walk in shower. You cannot beat... Certainly one of my favourite hotels in Europe. This was my fifth visit and I think it gets better every time. Maybe the familiarity makes it feel agreeable and more comfortable and more like home from home. The building is outstanding with beautiful interiors, lovely spacious rooms, modern bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent and the bar first class. This is... More

This lovely new/old hotel was a great find! Although only recently renovated, the buildings date back to the middle of the 16th century. A lot of time and care obviously went into the rebuild here. With only 22 rooms, the hotel feels like a large version of home - the staff were very welcoming, friendly and fluent in English (to... More

Great location inside the old town canals of Strasbourg, and directly next to Le Petite France. Hotel was a chateau that has recently been remodeled. A lot of money was invested in to this transformation, and the architect and owner's eye for elegance is first rate. Staff (in Dec 2014) was very helpful and welcoming. Rooms were large and the...
