Overpriced and overrated sums it all up. The most charming thing about the hotel is it's location which is great. The rooms are very tiny (which I can overlook) but the furniture is no so much old world as just old and beat up. The sheets on the bed are not nice French linens but Institutional and rough. We found... more

Our expectations were not nearly met at this alberge. Poor quality room in the "attic" due to low beams in an ancient building. If shorter than 5'10" might be okay. Quarters were cramped with no provision for clothing storage. Meals were modest and service no better than standard. Terribly overpriced for the total package. Noisy. On the positive side, the... more

We stayed just one night in this Hotel and opted for the Gastronomic romance package. We stayed in a room overlooking the canal. (room 23) At first we were slightly disappointed perhaps with the size of the room as it is rather small but the bathroom is rather spacious to make up for it. The furnishings and bed are old... more

It's hard for me not to get giddy over the first Christmas lights I see, and like a little kid I begin to feel the holiday spirit making it difficult to contain myself. However, I never realized how truly spectacular it can be before I stayed in Colmar during the Christmas markets. Not only is the entire town decorated and... more

This was a wonderful and charming hotel. We stayed there on our first leg of a 2-week European holiday. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They were very accomodating as well. We stayed in the Bach Suite overlooking the canal. This room was cozy with a large bed and a jacuzzi tub and stand-up shower. We dined in thier... more

Le marechal is nicely decorated (cozy, but not luxurious) in a sort of “kitsch” style that is quite charming . We stayed for 2 nights in one of the suites overlooking the square. One can see the photos here or on their website. But you must be prepared to a very poor quality of service. Nobody to carry our luggage,... more

Colmar is a wonderful town and we enjoyed our visit. The hotel is located in the area known as "Little Venice" and it is situated on a beautiful canal. You're walking distance to everything. Our first room, #16, at 140 euros per night, was a sardine can with a lumpy bed that was slanted so that your legs were slightly... more

We spent 2 nights at this hotel and found the location to be perfect. The rooms were very large and clean. The decor was great and the people working there were very friendly. If I'm ever in Colmar again, I would definitely come back to this hotel more

This is an atmospheric hotel in an old building on the edge of the historic section of town. Our room was well furnished and large enough. One pays a price for the character of the building; for example, there is no elevator. A staff person carried our two heavy suitcases up to our room, so we have no complaint (we... more
