just back from a 1 night stay in the lansdowne, where i had a single room on third floor.in short i would have nothing good to say about this hotel, granted it is cheap, but i would have paid extra to stay somewhere else. the room itself was like a cell with a kettle, walls and floors were very grubby, the... more

We had booked a double room over the internet for 2 nights. The pictures looked good - as usual. The hotel in reality was shabby on the outside and even worse on the inside. Our room was small and cramped with retrofit plumbing on the inside, the windows did not seal properly so there was a constant draft, to compound... more

I and three of my friends (aged 23-32) stayed at the Lansdowne for four nights in October. We had two double rooms which were quite basic but clean. The towels were changed daily and the room was cleaned, so no complaints in that department. Bathroom and the shower were also ok (they worked). Breakfast wasn’t that good (bacon especially) but... more

After reading the reviews I was dreading my stay at the Landsdowne! I was pleasantly suprised. My single room on the top floor was large, clean with beams and a chandelier! I was expecting a shower only but had a nice big bath too. The staff were very friendly and polite. Every day I got clean towels and restocked tea... more

Booked this hotel for a 1-night stay. Very shabby on the exterior, and the interior is worse. General Reception area is a shambles, corridors to rooms are like you would expect in a third world country, and the room was dreadful (huge patches of wallpaper missing, furniture that would look more at home on a skip). It was so bad... more

We have just stayed in this hotel we booked 2 family rooms, the kids rooms was big but the stench of sewerage and stale smoke was horrific, my husband had to buy a air freshner spray to try to make it bearable for the kids to sleep in for the 3 nights we were there. The lift was broke although... more

We went to stay at the Lansdowne hotel a few days ago,to celebrate a hen night in manchester I must say the rooms were absolutely filthy, their customer service wasn't very good either. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody. more

Stayed here when attending a Manchester United mid-week match. I have it say that it is pretty basic but at the same time can't fault the place. Its ideal if you want to go to a Man Utd match and also just a £10 approx taxi ride into the city centre. I just stayed there for one night and I... more
