I really enjoyed my stay at the Walk About. The staff was great and treated me very well. The pub on the ground floor is fantastic, several big screens to watch football. And 50 cent coffee. more

I wasn't expecting anything too over the top or too dodgy but i can say that i will never ever stay at this hotel again. The reception is in the basement which at nite as we found felt was very intimidating and not very secure as the main door was open instead of being locked, once through it we couldn't... more
I stayed here with a group of mates on a stag do.. This place is above the main Walkabout Bar. The room I stayed in was a family room and was mega basic! 3 bunk beds and en suite. The rooms were clean..basic and the bathroom had a bath/shower. Sadly for us it only dribbled out cold water which werent... more
I have stayed at the Walkabout hotel a few times now as it is good value for your money and the staff are always friendly. I have read some of the other reviews out there for the place and must admit it did sort of hit a down period around New Year 2006, but my last stay in May 2007... more
This place is terrible. 1. The bed in my room wasn't made, the sheets didn't fit it properly & duvet was hanging out of the cover. 2. The bathroom was filthy - black under the toilet rim & stains in the basin & on the tiles. The shower was boiling hot then freezing cold with absolutely no let up from... more
I dont think I have ever stayed anywhere as bad. No parking. Had to park on Great Northern car park and it cost £15 overnight and was ten min walk away, with bags a long way. Reception (down some dodgy looking steps off the street smelling of a public toilet - I am in no doubt that it is regularly... more
I see other people have rated this place quite well, but on my very recent visit I must disagree with them all. Firstly our twin room was actually a double - not the end of world, but an irritation. Secondly, there was a leak outside our door which meant a rather unsavoury stain outside, which upon entering the room actually... more
I am loathe to call this a hotel. Noise I can stand and we were warned about this but we were not told about the filth! Shower curtains hanging off, dubious stains outside the room door, empty mayonnaise bucket in the hallway! I have to stay the staff were nice but when I told the receptionist about the carpet in... more
Conveniently located for all that Manchester has to offer and less than 5 minutes form the nearest tram stops, Walkabout Inn offers value for money in a city which can be expensive. We stayed in a 'hotel' room although there are also 'hostel' rooms available. Hostel rooms are cheaper and are on the lower floors i.e nearer the bar and... more
