The worst place I've ever been on Earth. I seriously think that it should be shut. It is extremely dirty, no heating, it falls apart, everything is broken and they make you sign a declaration in order not break anything! We were woken up by a fire alarm syren...not sure if was genuine or just a way to kick us... More

For the area in central Manchester this hostel was of good value compared to other hotels. My friend and I booked a double room and although it was very basic it was clean and adequate. The hallways and lift smelt a bit damp and mouldy, but apart from that I didn't experience any bed bugs or other holidays. Not a... More

We booked a quad room for a lads weekend away, we booked this place due to the price, at £12.50 a night each we expected the worse! However we were pleasantly surprised, we had 2 single beds & 1 double, the room was very large with a sofa & toilet/shower facilities. Yes there were water marks where there had been... More

The hostel itself is fine. The room we stayed in was reasonable for the price, it was basic but clean which is all we really needed for the night. However there is a big problem with bed bugs. My friends and I were bitten all over by the bed bugs, which was horrible in itself, but we also accidentally brought... More

This place is an absolute dump. We stayed as a group of 7 for 1 night and that was more than enough. Two of the girls had green and red bugs in their bed (that was after the checkin mix up) where they had given our room to somebody else. Never again. At £30 a night for a double, pay... More

Stayed here for one night whilst going to see a band at the Manchester Academy. I intentionally avoided any reviews before hand as I didn't expect much and didn't want to be put off. When we arrived we were told of some kind of mix-up with the room booking. It wasn't very well explained but 'mattresses on the floor' and... More

I accept that this is a "budget accommodation" option, and my expectations were not high. However - the room we stayed in was bordering on a health and safety nightmare. An overview: The shower curtain was BLACK with mold and mildew, almost a foot high in some places The toilet leaked from the bottom whenever the shower had been turned... More

I just got back from an overnight stay in Manchester and decided to stay at the Walkabout Inn, Quay Street. It cost me £35 for a private double room with en-suite. I was visiting for a wrestling show at the student union which was to be followed by a televised showing of the WWE Wrestlemania show, finishing at 4am. Arriving... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in December with a friend for a Girly Xmas weekend. I really don't see what the fuss is all about. Yes it's very basic but what do you expect for £11 a night? It's got a bed, shower, toilet & heating, what more do you want? Yes you can hear the music from the club... More

The first time i stayed here, it was just for somewhere to put my head down when we got in after a heavy night, so never realised how bad it was. THIS TIME was a totally different scenario. We went to watch the lion king after eating at a Cantonese buffet and couldn't face drinking any more alcohol, so we... More
