Thinking to save a few quid, I booked a private room for three nights in this hostel. It is very close to Manchester Piccadilly Station and that is a strong point. I also thought the staff were warm and generous. But I was quite disappointed with some aspects of the stay. First, there was no heat in my room! The... More

This hostel is ideally located on Hilton Street which is 2 minutes walk from Picaddily Gardens and 10 minutes walk from the Manchester Victoria train station. The hostel is very cheap and this even includes breakfast. There is wifi in the public areas, you can rent towels for £2, check in is at 2pm and you can put your luggage... More

Great hostel. Very clean and comfortable, with a great social aspect to it. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with suggesting things to do around the city. The location is supurb, and easy to find your way back to after a night out. If I'm ever in Manchester again, I will definitely be staying here!

Close to all the nightclubs, sightseeing, hostel was clean and rooms were quite spacious. Highlight of the hostel must be this little patio/garden inside of the building, where you can sit and relax and have few drinks!

Hey there! Thanks for your review! He's not even our funniest or most helpful, so imagine what the rest of us could do! All guests checking in not only get Discounts with a capital D at our bar, Hold Fast, but also several other establishments in the super hip Northern Quarter! Alright! We hope to see you in Manchester again! More

So this was a trip of 10 girls in their late 20s spending the weekend in manchester. We managed to get a 10bed dorm on the 4th floor for £42 each for 2 nights at a weekend. The great thing (and possibly the only thing) going for this hostel is the central location to the northern quarter. And that's what... More

Greetings! Thanks for your review! We do appreciate all feedback. While all the bathrooms here at Newton street are your typical shared hostel variety, our sister hostel, Hatters at Hilton Chambers, only 300m away has flashier fixtures throughout and ensuite rooms! We're glad you found the location to be good, because if there's one thing we can't fix it's that.... More

Though I was only here for two nights for an interview, I thought this hostel was brilliant. Very cool indeed and very social. Cool posters, awesome music and a great old building with a wacky lift contribute to a very good vibe. And the location is briliant. (which made walking to the train station at 4am all the better). Beds... More

I stayed here and found the common rooms and bedrooms to my fancy. I have a few problems with varying prices re 8 bed dorm 10 bed dorm etc. They should all be the same. The staff at the desk were pleasant enough although I wonder if they had discretionary powers. (The three hostels in the "chain"are administered by Irish... More

Hello, thanks for taking your time to write a review. We can assure you staff do not have discretionary powers and treat all guests equally to make sure everybody has the best stay! Sometimes, the beds are not ready until after 2pm because there are large numbers of check outs and the housekeepers simply need more time to ensure each... More

Takes less than 5 minutes by walk to reach Hatter's hostel from Piccadilly Station and there's no chance you'll miss the building with the huge wall-painting of a bird that spans across the whole brick façade. While the staff was friendly and welcoming, during our stay we had the chance of sharing the premises with quite a few noisy party-goers... More
