Perfectly located, within a walking distance of every hot spot in the city. The staff was nice, answered all the questions with a smile! :) I think it has a valuable price/quality relationship, namely because it includes breakfast. The room was warm and we had the luck of having the beds near the heater. The bathroom was not that hot... More

The rooms are warm and tidy. The staff are welcoming. They are travellers too so know what its about and are up for being generally helpful and on your wavelength. The location is right in the heart of the Northern quarter, about 10 mins walk from Piccadilly or Victoria Stations. There is always stuff organised to do with the hostel-... More

I stayed at this place a year ago and found it a cheap and decent place to stay. Last time I was here, the rooms were warm, we were provided with towels and there was a sink in the room. It was also reasonably friendly enough. Unfortunately my experience this time around was not the same. The rooms were firstly... More

Fab hostel - i stayed here for 3 nights with a friend and I would highly recommend it. Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff and really good bar beneath the hostel. Despite what others say here I found the rooms and showers very clean and couldnt find any faults.

I stayed 2 nights. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Staff at reception were friendly. The room was clean. Although there was some noise (it is a large social hostel), it was minimal and standard for a hostel (ear plugs gave a sound enough sleep for me so no complaints). The hostel has a nice social space and... More

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere yet run professionally. Great value for money. I've had to stay in Manchester on and off for a few weeks and felt like I was getting the best value for money at this hostel rather than other (low-cost) hotels or guesthouses that I've stayed in around the same area of the city.... Its a hostel, you get what you pay for. So the windows were a not double glazed, it was noisy outside.....its a hostel, its in the city centre. The staff (with one exception who didn't want to be there) were friendly and helpful, acted like friends. Very good value breakfast. Bed was cosy, room was clean. I was lucky with... More

I have stayed in Hatters (Newton Street), many a time, it was just after it opened, it still wasn't finished at the time, and from that time forward it was an excellent place to stay, it wasn't fully opened, painting still going on, with only certain floors and part floors ready for occupation, rough, but more than acceptable. This last time...
