The hotel looks OK as you arrive in the car park, but as soon as you pass reception it rapidly goes downhill. The low ceilinged, public toilet lit corridor was a first warning of what to expect in the room. Old and run down, poor facilities, cramped, very poor condition bathroom. Not even a bedside lamp, the only light was... More

Wasn't expecting 5* accommodation because previous Trip Advisor reviews confirmed standards here are very suspect but we were attending a function there so thought we would be okay for One nights stay. The room was very small (216) appeared basic but adequate. It had a wet room! Unfortunately after taking a shower in the morning the water took 40 minutes... More

We arrived in the afternoon and it was fair to say that the greeting wasn't warm. We had a problem on our booking but the young chap on reception said he would sort it as we had shown him OUR confirmation email. He didn't give us a good first impression. The room was pleasant but dated and we only had... More

I had to stop here again and it is not getting any better. I keep hearing that money is being invested, but it is not in the rooms I am certain of that. The rooms are barely big enough for the bed. There is nowhere to plug in a laptop or a phone, and nowhere to sit if you did... More

The hotel is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I feel sorry for the staff. They mustn't be able to have any pride in there job knowing what a dive this place is. The beds are uncomfortable pillow are hard so I was up at the crack of dawn. The carpet in the room didn't... More

Arriving at this hotel it looks so grand with not a thing out of place it's only when you start looking for problems you see problems. I stayed in a twin room on the ground floor, the room was big enough but the wet room was small and smelt of paint (obviously showing that they are trying to make improvements)... More

I really do hope that the hotel management look at these reviews because they need to pull their fingers out and get something done about this dump of a hotel. I arrived this afternoon to a receptionist who really could not have cared less. I had no information regarding breakfast times or where to go for breakfast and no information... More

I have been staying at the Waterside every week at least one night a week for the past four months (work related). Whilst not necessarily the most spacious of rooms, they are nonetheless comfortable, with good mattresses and reasonable facilities (including rather nice Borders Biscuits). The Leisure Club saw a significant facelift last year and is very well equipped with... More
