If you are visiting a city, it's nice to have a great hotel, but not critical, especially if it's just a place to sleep. The beds here were clean and the surrounding area is peaceful, but the amenities that you may expect or desire for the prices that they charge in high season (we were there in July) are a... More

Visited this hotel this week at lunchtime for a 'wake' The car park and outside area gives a good first impression and this continues into reception(passing the swimming pool-which looks very nice indeed). The location of the hotel is good right next to the River Mersey. The bar area was quite pleasant -and so was the function room for the wake. There is... My partner and I with our little one booked an overnight stay at The Waterside Hotel in Didsbury for a family wedding function being held there. Our first impressions of the venue were low due to general up keep of car park and grounds area (both are quite poor). All over head lighting are covered with year’s worth of cobwebs... More

I'm here now on a business trip the rooms are awful, I am 28 and have stated on some 'lads' hotels in my time but waterside hotel is really bad condition with ripped carpet, paint flaking off walls, mould, rotten door frames. good gym, expensive but nice bar. Rooms a real let down making it the most disgusting place I've... More

I was given a full refund by the hotel for the night I stayed there plus the two remaining nights. I promised not to give a scathing attack in return for the refund (my offer) but I feel that it needs to be noted that for once the bad reviews are correct - I would not consider this hotel until... This hotel is more a dated leisure centre with a few rooms added on. Reception and bar area smelt of chlorine. The room was very small and a table that just fitted in. Very basic. The bathroom was awful with mould around the bath mastic and around the taps. The shower rail was rusty and the rubbish bin had not been... More

I have stayed at the Waterside twice now to attend a sports event at Parrs Wood high school just across the road and whilst the common areas seem to have been upgraded the rooms are in desparate need of attention. There was only 2 sockets for use in a double room, neither of which by the bed which is useless... More

Was meant to be staying 3 nights checked out after one, the rooms were far too small, and so hot it was unbearable our kids room was like a cupboard, it didn't feel clean at all, the 1st impression when you walk in is that this is lovely when you see the rooms it's a total shock it's meant to... There are few hotels in this world where I have got out of bed and slept in the car. This is one. We were there for a family event last Saturday, and another couple didn't even stay the night! The rooms were so hot (we had 307), and the small opening was at the bottom of the window, so almost... More

We have spent 2 nights here and although the hotel is a bit dated, the beds are clean and comfortable, the shower is strong and hot and the food is delicious. Our room was not air conditioned, but we just left the window open which was fine.
