I found this hotel through late rooms but booked direct . What a great hotel, the rooms are lovely , free wifi , qulaity linen and towels and its spotlessly clean . Breakfast was excellent , real quality toast and preserves. The Villags is really good with places to eat within walking distance .We ate at Smiths that management recommended... more

I have just returned from staying at the Ascott, - my 5th time, usually alone but this time with my daughter. As always, we had a very nice room - yes, the size of rooms DOES vary, but you would expect this in a converted (and very well converted!) period house. I have always had plenty of room, the rooms... more

Booked at the last minute and was delighted with the courtesy and co-operation of the staff who couldn't have been more helpful. Was given choice of rooms which were all delightful, well furnished and spotless. There was a good choice for breakfast very well priced and the whole stay was a pleasure, will certainly stay again when in the area. more

Thought this was too good to be true when I booked it as it was a very reasonable price..but now I realise there was a reason I felt wary when first booking. This was booked for a training course, by the way, so absolutely had to be in manchester for these dates and made this clear when making the booking!... more

In response to this review where the guest suggests that our service was less than satisfactory. I can only state the facts of the booking. The guest book a room which she states she thought was a very reasonable price. The guest was due to arrive on the Tuesday. Unfortunately the room she had booked en-suite bathroom had developed a...

This is a small hotel (<10 rooms) in a historic building in Manchester. It is near the motorway. It is claimed to be near city center but is not- nothing within walking distance. Rooms may vary depending upon which floor you get. I was in third floor room #7 which was apparently a maid's bedroom. It was very small, no... more

Under the United Kingdom's current legislation - Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972. All non-British and Commonwealth citizens must surrender their passport upon check-in. This is common practice within the UK. In regards to his complaint of differing sizes of rooms. The hotel is a Victorian property and the sizes of rooms varies due to the nature of the building. I stayed at the Ascott for one night on a business trip to Manchester and loved it. I think it is fantastic value for money and infinfitely better than some of the other, very grotty places I have stayed in nearby. The room wasn't huge but it was very cosy, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. I only wanted cereal and... more

We spent one night at the Ascott and found the room to be clean, well serviced and quiet. The owner was very helpful when we arrived and when we asked about restaurants where we could eat (Thursday night) he even rang to book us a table and gave directions for us to walk to same. He did point out that... more

We are a family of 3adults from Malta. It is not the first time that we booked a room at Ascott hotel and we were last there in January 2008. The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable, and the breakfast varied and good. David, Peter and all the staff at Ascott are extremely helpful and accomodating and we'd find no difficulty... more
