As it happens, I was staying in Manchester for an unrelated reason, but during the Literary Festival - so I think accommodation prices were pretty inflated generally. Cheap - this was not! The pub is located in a very noisy area of Manchester, where the sounds of heavy traffic, police sirens, and other signs of people enjoying themselves abound. Unfortunately,... More

As this was advertised as access 24 hours a day, I thought there would be at least 1 staff member present in the building if there was any problems as myself and my friend found out. The only access to the premises was a side door which would not open as it was locked from the inside. There were two... More

I have recently stayed at the Crown And Anchor and would like others to know how much I enjoyed my stay. It is situated in the heart of the Northern Quarter and as such, has the best that Manchester has to offer on it's doorstep. But what will stay with me was how friendly and welcoming everyone who worked there... More

Where to start. When we entered the pub we were met by some very rowdy lads who told us to walk straight back out and stay somewhere else while we still could, Wish we had of listened!! The rooms were pretty disgusting, we had mould and water stains all over one and in the corner of the ceiling, the beds... More

Firstly we found our reservation to be wrong, however this worked out quite well, we had booked 4 twin rooms, but were provided 2 twin and 1 triple, we... More

In future I will check trip advisor before I book. Although there wasn't a great deal of choice at the time of booking. I did not think 90 pound in a little B and B would be this budget. Price definitely out ways this accommodations standards. Overall the whole building is tired and shabby looking. Carpets up the stairs in... More
