after reading previous reviews we arrived at the hotel with a great deal of trepidation the area itself is nice and is in a courtyared bordered by three bars which was very busy but not noisy reception is up a steep flight of stairs, the staff were quite welcoming and as we were early for check in, they looked after... I had a short and extremely uncomfortable stay. Our bedroom was smelly, the room was stupidly hot, the bathroom didn't make me feel clean. The staff were friendly granted and yes it is a cheap hotel... The pictures ake this place look ok but in reality it's quite bad. Never again will I choose my hotel on price alone... Pay... More

Excellent location in the Manchester city centre. Magnificent view to the Cathedral from the room window, The staff was really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Beautifully decorated rooms. Sure, the building was old with squeaky floors and whatnot, but that just adds to the charm of the place! The pubs below quited down before midnight so we slept like babies.

Stayed here for two nights and was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the executive suit, and the room was gorgeous. It was beautifully decorated with panoramic view in a great central location and very clean. The pub right out side was open till 11 but took less then an hour to quieten down after closing (we stayed mid week so... More

I stayed here for a hen weekend. The hotel is ideally located for a night out in town, as it's close to all the bars, and it's also opposite Selfridges and the main shopping centre. The hotel itself is a little date and basic, and due it's central location, it's quite noisy so I didn't have the best sleep. But... More

The pictures do not do this place justice.... its a whole lot worse! Wonky flooring, creaking floors, a leaking bathroom, a reception in 100% need of an update, lack of power sockets in the room, no mirror other than the bathroom making it very difficult t get ready - in a Family room! Location is great. That's about it. I... More

We stayed here for a so called romantic weekend and woke up to shouting and faeces on the hall floor, surly staff and a truly disgusting bathroom, will never visit again , only fit for stag parties and swingers, the food was awful too, home made soup fresh from a can of Heinz, not good at all

We stayed here for one night and I'm glad it wasn't any longer! The room was clean enough but the bed quality was awful, had a really poor nights sleep. The shower trickled out and we couldn't get the temperature to stabilise.

We are very sorry to hear that the bed you stayed on was uncomfortable, due to our city centre location we have a very high turnover of guests and this does cause the beds to lose their quality. We do regularly change the beds and buy new ones in and I can only apologise that your stay occurred before a... More
