Perfectly located, staff friendly, rooms and common areas clean, in general Very nice, clean hostel, we'll be back. Breakfast was good too, i think yha offers a really good variety of items for the price you pay, but it used to be better before, there were more items to choose from....

A lovely youth hostel well positioned on the canal basin. Warm welcome from staff who were friendly and helpful. Room an excellent size. Plenty of storage space and a nice relaxing sofa. Comfortable bed, very welcome after a long day taking in Manchester. Self catering kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of room in the two fridges for our... More

cheap, comfortable stay at a perfect location. Dorm was very clean, perfectly arranged ensuite rooms, walkable distance to railway stations and on top of it, it was cheap. Lobby is a bit crowded or prob a lil noisy if you are someone looking for a peaceful place. And theres a coffee shop in the lobby giving you very good options.

The major plus points of this YHA are the location (in beautiful Castlefield and easy walking distance to the rest of Manchester city centre) and the free parking. The staff were also very helpful too, particularly the guy who got me some filter coffee from the back office when the coffee machine was broken! However, I got a very poor... More

Stayed here with a group of nine 12 year olds on a football trip for two nights. When you think of youth hostels, you think of old school grubby dorms but this was totally the opposite. Modern, clean, good location, selection of food and drinks were great, and at a good price too. There's a games room which kept the... More

Hostel was in a very nice area filled with history very close to the city centre too .Rooms are small but if you are an experienced traveler you will be alright. Security was very well maintained and the best part was their breakfast which was superb

We stayed in a private en suite room, friendly helpful staff. Really good value, great location. Good to be able to use washing machine and dryer. Far better than many 3 star hotels we have been. Many thanks, plan to visit again soon .

We stayed at the YHA as a family. We booked a private room for 3 for a few days. It was so convenient and comfortable that I went back for a longer stay on my own. Located in Potato Wharf it is close to Deansgate, Arndale shopping center, John Rylands Library and of course the restaurants along the wharf. The... More

We managed to get a room very last minute, had no idea it was there! Great location in walking distance to the city centre and a lovely setting, I can imagine it would be lovely in the summer. The room was fine couldn't complain and the price was amazing! Will defiantly return in the future!
