I feel we were extortionately over charged for this very small room & extremely creaky cheap bed, not to mention the deafening music from the nightclub below (it felt like one of the speakers was actually in our room), every 20 minutes the bottle bins were emptied just beneath our window which sounded like a car was coming crashing through... The response at the time New Union Hotel & Showbar Feb 12th, 5:36pm Dear Ruth I am sorry your expectations were not met. This is disappointing on both sides. The noise is something we will never be able to change as the bar is the primary business. Many of the reviews state about the noise so I thought it was... More

Stayed for one night , booked direct with the Hotel . Friendly helpful staff, nice clean room with what looked like a recently fitted or upgraded on suite. Great pub downstairs with lively atmosphere . Drank the Banks's bitter which was very nice . My one gripe was my room was right next to the stairs so you could hear... More

Very handy at the end of Canal Street, or even handy if you're drinking elsewhere in the city centre. Check in easy, room very clean and great maid service. Only gripe was that handwash was put in the shower and the shower was intermittently cold in the morning. Bar downstairs is very handy a really good crowd. Would definitely stay... More

As a last minute night away, me and my partner decided to go to Manchester. We live about 40 miles away so somewhere of value and less than a taxi home is good. This place was suprisingly excellent value! £30 for us both on a Monday night. We've been into the bar on many occasions and thought that we'd never... More

Me and my daughters stayed here as we went to see the Lion King at the Palace Theatre. I had read the reviews so I knew it would be quite noisy. Our room was lovely and the shower looked brand new. The beds were absolutely brilliant I had a loveky sleep. We went out drinking in Canal Street after the... More

I received a very warm welcome on arrival. The Union Hotel provides good quality pub accommodation within the heart of Manchester. The room was very clean and to a good standard, considering the price. I will definately consider staying here again when on a night out in Manchester.

Centrally located in the gay village of Canal St, short walk to trams, buses and Town Hall. Friendly, helpful staff and easy check in/ out process. Rooms, although small, are comfortable, clean and have the best bed we've slept in, so far on our travels. The bar downstairs is averagely priced and has an unfortunate hint of sweat in the... More
