We paid £45 for 1 night & let me tell you never again will I ever be stepping foot in that place! Bathroom was dirty & thebedroom well where the hell do I start... Bed was squeaky & every time you moved it was horrible!! The state of the bedroom was disgusting! I understand you get what you pay for... More

Me and my partner booked our room last minute and managed to snatch a room here for £25 with breakfast which is a bargain. The room was very basic and the furniture looked old and the carpet wasn't fitted very well, etc but we wasn't bothered because it was clean and it was somewhere to sleep which was all we... More

We booked in at the main bar downstairs and was taken to the entrance of the stairs which led up to the rooms upstairs. We where given directions to the room upstairs, and requested a second set of keys. Upon entry the room was clean and tidy didn't smell and the bedding was clean and crisp looking, as it looked... Vile. We didn't even stay the night, we had to leave and drive home. Hairs in the bed sheets, curtain hanging off the rail. Cheap and nasty. If you are looking for cheap accommodation find a cheap hostel and avoid this hovel

On Monday 14th December we checked into the REM Hotel. We were really excited as this was right in the gay village. OMG !! is all I can say :-( The carpet on the 2 flights of stairs up to the rooms was dirty stinky shiny black with dirt and our shoes stuck to the carpet every step. When we... More

Booked this place last minute, all I knew about it was that it was above a pub, hadn't thought it would be slap bang in the middle of the gay village, which would be fine, if I didn't feel the emphasis of it when I entered my room to find a 4ft picture of a naked man positioned and ready... More

Firstly, I wish we'd taken photgraphs just to show how shocking this 'hotel' is! My gf and I booked it last minute, approximately 10 minutes before actually getting there. My advice, don't ever do that unless you've stayed at the place you've booked before. The pub itself is dark, very dark... black decor and not very welcoming. Being on Canal... More

The problem started upon arrival; you had to walk into the bar to book in – barely 2 words were spoken by the chap who simply took my name, ticked me off in this booking sheet and walked us round to another door. He told us the keys opened this door, there was another locked door on the second floor... More

I think people have to set realistic expectations when they book accommodation. There are plenty of opportunities to stay in opulence, but expect to pay a commensurate rate. We paid £29 for a room in the centre of Manchester and therefore we weren't expecting top class surroundings. The carpet on the way up is, as others have said, way past... More

I have stayed here 3 times and will continue to stay here whenever out in Manchester. The location is absolutely perfect, right on the canal street in walking distance of everything you need. The fellow running the place and staff are extremely accommodating and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are all you need for a short stay, I... More
