Another lovely stay in this great hotel. Check in was a breeze even though we were a couple of hours early, we were given our room keys and the luggage was taken up for us. We enjoyed the sunday brunch which was lovely and excellent value. We then went for a walk around the town centre. We returned in the... More

I booked a conference room at the Malmaison in Manchester for a party for my wife's 30th birthday. From the initial enquiry right until collecting our belonging the morning after the meal/party the team at the Malmaison were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and the everyone was so helpful and friendly. Upon visiting the room in the day, I... More

We've been fans of Malmaison hotels for 20 years. They are always located in the city centre & are usually old warehouses which have been lovingly restored & turned unto a sumptuous hotel. High-ceilinged rooms, large windows, which let in lots of light, huge comfy beds, draped in rich purples & browns, CD player & then the usual mini-bar, tv,... More

Nice hotel, a pleasant change from the box type modern budget hotel. Great location for the Railway Station and Shops, rooms clean and tidy, with a great shower. Views from the hotel, what you would expect for a city centre hotel, i.e. Nothing to see. Didn't eat at the hotel, but the bar area has a nice atmosphere, with nice... More

\When I first mentioned to my work mate that I was in Malmaison for the week, his first reaction was “you don’t wanna stay there ! it is like a madam’s house” (he used a different work to describe but i will refrain from using it here). I turned looked at him wide eyes and was not sure what was... More

We stayed here for the weekend and the place was beautifully clean and the staff were very welcoming. However, it was a struggle turning the air con on due to broken buttons and the bathroom smelt like feet.

I recently stayed in the Malmaison over the weekend with work, and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and polite, and made all interactions comfortable and easy. The room was stunning; I couldn't fault a thing, and I found the amenities, as well as the restaurant to be superb. All in all, I would highly... More

Stayed on the bed and bubbles package and also opted into their upgrade system. Stayed in superior deluxe double for £93 inc breakfast and glass of bubbles. Excellent value. Large room with fab rain shower which actually worked like it should. Only complaint is the air con which makes the room smell.

I visited Malmasion last week with my wife and my two sons for my sons graduation. From the moment we arrived we were treated with excellent customer service and were shown are room promptly which was top standard. On the night of arrival I went downstairs to the bar myself for a few hours were I meet a lovely barmaid... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mal Manchester: In the home of the beautiful game you're about to turn Moulin Rouge. A short trundle for wheel-based luggage from Piccadilly Station and you're at the Mal - somewhere in the mists between Paris and the 24-hour party city. You cross the chessboard reception and suddenly you're a king for the knight. It's your move. Smoak Bar and Grill at Mal Manchester: A grill room and bar quite unlike anything Manchester has ever before seen. Set in the award-winning Malmaison Hotel minutes from Piccadilly station, Smoak is total indulgence for the senses. The amazing aroma of nation's finest oak-smoked steaks and fresh fish, served to a pewter counter or cosy booth. Imagine great imported beers, cocktails and bubbly served from an unusual sunken bar, with highly skilled mixologists serving you while you stay seated. Picture a stylish relaxed but chic interior a mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools. Come lunchtime and it's locally sourced bread, generously filled sandwiches and salads or full blown grill dining for the more adventurous lunchtime escapee. Come sundown the mood changes and we turn the aromas up to eleven. The cocktails flow, the steaks sizzle, the music turns up and the night begins. Ember Lounge at Mal Manchester: We could tell you about the Ember Lounge - an immaculate and opulent cocktail bar furtively hidden to the rear of the Smoak Bar & Grill. ... more   less
