We did pay extra and had the superior suite and my was it superior it was lovely didn't want the small double rooms and they are small what you see is what you get in those double rooms we... more

This is a medium sized hotel on the Wilmslow Road in Manchester. The location is very lively and there are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is made up of an older 1900s terrace house and a newer extension that was probably built in the 1950's or 1960's. If you are a paying guest you can park... more

Arrived at the hotel to a wonderful welcome from reception with a glass of fruit cocktail, escorted to our Room by a very helpful porter, the room was beautiful as we had been given a complimentery upgrade to a superior room. Bedroom was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The Bar had a lovely homely feel and was cosy with... more

Slightly worried after reading previous comments, but I guess most people only bother if they've had a poor experience. In contrast we found the staff great (not often you can say that in the uk) the Hotel had a lovely warm atmosphere, breakfast was fantastic, the room good, easy busses into the city where we had dinner at Moso Moso... more

This whole hotel is just slightly... strange, in my opinion. Arrival did not go well. The hotel is only identifiable by the "Best Western" sign from the outside. When we got inside, a huge sign welcomed us to the "Feathers hotel", so we thought we'd come to the wrong place, but the receptionist assured us this was the Willowbank. Checking... more

Went up to Manchester to see Utd. Ideal location. Arrived earlier then expected, staff very helpful and got one of our two rooms ready asap so we could drop our stuff off and freshen up. Staff again very helpful when we enquired best way to travel to Old Trafford ground plus Trafford shopping centre. Ate at hotel restaurant in evening,... more

We were not impressed with the Willowbank Hotel; but it was not terrible. -- There was no lift (elevator), so my elderly father had to climb the stairs just to get to the lobby and our room (and I had to lug all the baggage up the stairs; the porter was never present on the ground floor). Perhaps there are... more

Stayed at the Willowbank for work in Manchester. The rooms are quite small, and the light in the rooms is appalling - especially if you don't want to look like a china doll with your make-up. It's in the middle of the student area, so don't book if you have meetings in the city. Also - the toilet takes the... more

First off, some good points. This hotel is cheap, the location is reasonable (about 20 mins by bus to the city centre), the reception and bar areas are clean and comfortable, and there's free, secure parking. The problems with this hotel, and they were big problems, were the standard of the rooms and the noise. All we really wanted was... more

We recently spent a very pleasant two-night stay at the Willowbank Hotel in Manchester. I had stayed in the area before but not at this particular hotel and so knew the area was pretty good and convenient for the city centre (and the gig we went to at the Apollo). This hotel represents excellent value for money. The room was... more
