I stayed here last weekend. It looks pretty impressive from the outside and the communal areas are quite nice. This is where the elegance ends though I'm afraid. The room was up on the 4th floor, in the roof space right next to the main kitchen extractor fans. As well as bing unbelievably noisy, the whole room shook and vibrated.... More

Arrived for a 3 night stay to be told the twin room we had booked was not available. After a discussion with the receptionist who was downright rude we requested a chat with the manager who found 2 twin rooms were available. Not a great start. When we finally got to the room we found it to be very tired... More

I have now stayed in this hotel three times over the past 2 years, and would not consider staying anywhere else when travelling to Manchester. It is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station and the centre of the city, and if booked in advance, has always been available for a very reasonable price.

We stayed for two nights at The Palace Hotel while attending a conference held there, and we were in room 356. Our room overlooked the Oxford Street railway station - we could literally see people waiting for their trains, and this meant that every train going past woke us up. It was terrible - the larger and faster trains made... More

I found the rooms to be beautifully decorated, spacious and clean and the bed itself was the largest I've ever slept on - And comfy too. Location handy for buses and there is a 24hr car park behind the hotel which is discounted for the duration of your stay.

I recently went on a 2 day business trip to Manchester for some training. I spent 1 night in a double room at The Palace Hotel Manchester on Oxford Street. Here are the pros and cons Pros - Great location; eye catching architecture; well presented and warm rooms; basic but adequate usage things in the room; nice staff Cons -... More

We stayed in a deluxe room (second floor) the room was a really good size. Bed was really comfortable the only disappointing side to the room which was said to be newly refurbished was the massive red stains on the cream carpet as you entered the room (hmm newly refurbished you say?) The bathroom was clean and tidy however the... More

just returned from a one night stay at the palace in Manchester and can safely say that we would never stay here again without going on and on firstly there were pubic hairs in the bath, which although we paid the cheap £47 deal, there is no excuse for this to happen ........closed the curtains in the room and the... We stayed for two nights in the palace Hotel. The Hotel is unusual and we loved exploring it's many floors and seeing evidence of the Hotels history. The hotel public areas are beautiful and the food excellent, the room was adequate, clean with everything we needed but the decor made it feel dark and drab even though we apparently had... More
