I booked a night here as a surprise for my mum who was coming to Manchester to go to the theater with me. I had booked the day off and wanted to take her for afternoon tea before the theater and then a nice night at a hotel. After reading some of the reviews I was a little skeptical about... More

Friendly, helpful staff are let down by dirty, dated disfunction! The room was the size of a suite but instead of being grand it simply dwarfed the stained, mean furniture and 80s inspired heavy draping decor. But worn out dirtiness is the overwhelming issue. Stained carpets, huge dust clumps hanging off the pelmet and threadbare ironing board hit you. But... More

Reception area is very impressive and check in was swift. Stayed in a double room and the quality of furnishings is excellent. Bed was very comfy and the room was spacious. Breakfast was good and you could have as much tea/coffee/toast as you like. Bar prices are expensive - 2 double vodkas with coke was £20.80! Great location on Oxford... More

Thank you for a great review and appreciate you highlighting our fabulous breakfast in our Tempus Restaurant. I note your comment regarding bar prices but do hoe are amazing surroundings in our Grade 2 listed building with excellent service made it worth the price. I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards Richard Morrell General Manager More

The Palace Hotel is one of those beautiful quirks of Britishness. How would you like your exquisite, palatial, city centre hotel served sir? With a side order of late 19th Century Psychiatric Institution? Yes please, that will do nicely.... and so it came to pass that I found myself in the lobby of this bafflingly weird and charmingly shambolic beast... More

We spent the night in Manchester celebrating a friends 50th, so when an offer came up at the Palace Hotel it was crazy to refuse the opportunity to have a few drinks and not worry about driving home. The hotel itself is a lovely old building in an area of Manchester I particularly like, with the Cornerhouse just over the... More

Thank you for your review and most disappointed the breakfast service let you down what would have been a great stay. I know you followed a huge group into the restaurant but no excuse and will redouble my efforts to prevent any reoccurrence and ensure guests experience our normal high level of quality and service all the time. Kind regards... More

\We attended a Happy Monday's Charity event on Friday 17th October 2014. The event date had changed 3 months earlier so they had plenty of warning. On arrival the Restaurant/Event manager advised he would advise the kitchen/serving staff regarding our gluten free meals from our designated table. However, the serving staff were different for every course, we had to ask/ascertain... More

Thank you for you review and my sincere apologies for the poor communication of your dietary requirements. Stayed here Friday Oct 10th whilst visiting from Canada to see our friends in Manchester. We loved the old charm of this hotel, its grandeur and architecture is great. Our room was HUGE, seriously, I don't think i have ever seen such high ceilings in a hotel before! The rooms were dated, but it just added to its natural charm... More

I stayed at the Palace hotel for a week on business. I can't comment on the value for money as the accommodation was booked in advance but I found my stay very pleasant. The room was very clean and comfortable although the fact that there were no plugs next to the bed was very frustrating. The breakfast was very nice... More
