The entrance, lobby and bar of the hotel are stunning. The rooms are very old fashioned with furniture that needs updating and the rooms needing a total renovation. It is in a good location, but would not stay here again.

The entrance and bar are stunning, with beautiful marble pillars and vast open spaces. It's a shame that the rooms are such pot luck- I've stayed in beautiful rooms there and then this time the room was really shabby- see photos! The buttons from taps were missing, there was mould round the tiles and the room generally was an odd... More

Been there last week on my business and personal trip. Hotel's location is very convinence to transport by train through Oxford station. Hotel is stunting at first glance due to historical of the buliding. Room is renovate from the old style to modern style then all accommodation are just fair. In short, good for couple but not recommend for familt... More

I enjoyed my stay here but was a shame i was in a basement room which was a long walk with 2 bags and a heavy suitcase down 2 sets of stairs!! I was offered assistance at the check in but did not realise the distance or stairs and so declined! Comfy room but not as nice as the pics... More

Stayed here with my wife for one night. Were initially put in a room that smelled very badly of cigarette smoke and asked to move which was done very smoothly and with minimal fuss. Staff friendly and breakfast was excellent. The building itself is an absolutely beautiful, grand piece of 19th century architecture. Good location opposite Oxford Road station and... More

The Palace Hotel has been selling discounted stays on Groupon, I paid the price (not a huge reduction - still £90 for the night) for a one night stay then after purchase you then contact the hotels own reservation line to make the booking for the required night. However, the Palace hotel have sold more nights through Groupon than they... More

If we go to Manchester, this is the place we always stay. The rooms are good, the building generally is beautiful and just a nice hotel in general. Above all the location is absolutely perfect. Great for a weekend away!

Starting with the good points, the entrance hall and original tiled corridors of this building are amazing, a pleasure to walk down. Our room (206) was equally impressive being very spacious and having high ceilings. We had breakfast in the morning which was excellent, the food was great and the service we received was efficient. However, my partner and I... More

I stayed here for one night with my partner and his work hired one of the function rooms for an event. The palace has a beautiful entrance as you walk in and I also loved the decor throughout. The corridors can be a bit mismatched and it's easy to get lost but I liked the features of the old building,... More
