Fortunately I only stayed in this hotel for one night on a business trip. I arrived about an hour before the stated earliest check in time and was able to check in. I was aware that the hotel was opposit the train station so was prepared for a small amount of noise from the trains. When I got to my... more

I had booked this hotel for a 2-night stay through a travel agency at a very good price. I had checked the reviews at this site and had a mixed feelings about what to expect. Arriving at the hotel was piece of cake since it is just opposite the oxford station. Checkin was one of the fastest ever and people... more

The entrance to this hotel and the foyer areas are absolutely gorgeous and have total WOW factor! if you want to impress the person you are with this is the place! My room was also pretty amazing with floor to celing windows and stained glass. I didnt eat in the hotel but I would imagine from the look of the... more

We arrived at the hotel absolutely exhausted from our 3 hour train journey to be met with a horrible disgusting smell on walking through the entrance. It was a smell I can only describe as "Holiday Toilets" (sewers). First impressions of the reception were quite pleasing and then we spoke to the receptionist! We were given our room key with... more

This is, without doubt, one of the most architecturally beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. If only the rest of the hotel had lived up to it. Firstly I have to warn you about the smell. It is truly disgusting and pervasive - like a mix between cheesy feet and a sewer. On the first night, my colleagues and I... more

Thank you for your comments, the smell you refer to was not coming from the hotel but a drain blockage on whitworth street which was fixed the same day. Sorry to hear of the oversight with your meal and will contact you direct to resolve.

I am just back from a trip to the Palace Hotel which was the hotel of choice for a conference I was attending. They can't have checked out the rooms as mine was awful and many other delegates moved hotels. One colleague had a 'good' room which was dated decor but tidy and large enough. Mine had a smelly carpet,... more

After I read trip adviser, I nearly cancelled my booking, but I thought I'd keep an open mind. I got there pretty late at night and although I'd asked for a quiet room, I got a noisy room (traffic and shouting from outside). The room seemed to be several levels below the ground and it made me feel a bit... more

Thank you for your kind comments, please note all our bedrooms have had some degree of refurbishment and they all meet a four star standard, albeit to a different specification

Stayed for three nights in June. Room was large, but very tired and the A/C did not work properly. Service was practically non-existant. Internet was slow. Breakfast was included, but bad. No proper health facilities and poor business facilities - which is strange for a 4 star hotel. I will not stay here again. I think the fact that 59%... more

Paid £ 90 ++ for a room at this horrible hotel! My original reservation had two nights, but I moved out after the first night. Moved over to the Lowry Hotel, which is a true luxurious hotel, not a prententious palace of horror such as Palace Hotel. And it was only £ 30 more per night. Totally worth it!! At... more

Sorry we did not meet your expectations. Inspected the room and the comment about the mold is harsh, There was a small chip to the bath which I have now repaired, The room other wise was too a high four star standard. Nearly 25% of your many hotel visits / reviews across the world received 1 out of 5 !!!!!...

the hotel is rather plush with good friendly staff. the restuarant and bar is the same with good food and attentive staff. the room's facilities and decor were great; what you would expect for the price however I was on a business trip and therefore needed to work and then get a reasonable sleep time and the corner room I... more
