Having driven 5 hours from Kent to Manchester on Friday night, we approached reception to have the night receptionist's face drop at the sound of our name. From my experience this is a typical Thistle city centre hotel. Shabby, overpriced and to be avoided at all costs. The hotel reception looks impressive, well presented and good friendly staff. On a conference for two days - only real problem was lack of preparation for serving 100 people at once with tea and coffee. Room small, view onto side street.
