Unfortunately my firm booked this hotel for me as its next door to our office. The room has no windows and you can't put the lamp on if you are watching television as there's only one plug socket. Have to put up with the noisy extractor as there's no window ventilation. The bed looks like its seen better days. The... More

A nice architectural building but that is where it stops. 10 minute walk to manchester centre. Food was ok and went there for winter break. When i was there one of the two lifts broke. Needs alot of refurbishment inside. Would not return to this hotel.

Booked online at £65 two weeks before. Found the room for £55 online the night before which did not endear me to the place. Joined a long line to check in, three check in positions only two staffed with 10 people in the queue is not great customer service. I found it interesting not a single person behind the counter... We stayed here 6 & 7 October and were very pleasantly surprised with this lovely old hotel. Our rooms were clean and a good size, the meals in the restaurant were good value and the location suited as as we came by train, to Manchester Picadilly station. It's also close to the buses and trams.

Coming into the hotel the reception was glorious, taking back to it's hayday, as I strolled around the side to check in I was greet by 2 police officers who had been dealing with something in the hotel.... This would become a very big sign of things to come. Reception staff were okay but felt like any hospitality on there... More

I was very keen to write a review of this place as soon as I got home as I don't want other people to make the mistake of coming here. I accidentally came across the Birmingham Britannia hotel reviews but they more or less describe the Manchester one, i.e: don't bother! I was really tired after a long drive (from... More

My wife and I stayed overnight to break up a trip from Scotland to Cornwall. The room (101 Executive Twin Room) was well laid out clean and comfortable. The service from the staff was excellent, everyone we dealt with could not help enough. The down sides were the distance to the recommended car-park, poor Wireless Internet and significant overnight noise.... More

If you want to know what poor service is go to this place which I would not call a hotel as it does not deserve to classified as a hotel. Rude staff, dirty room, overpriced, room is hot like an oven and what bothers you really do not know from where this heat comes from. I was in a long... More

Booked a twin room a month in advance. After waiting an age to book in we found our hotel room to have a double bed and a camp bed. The double bed would had been nice for me but hardly fair for my 15 year old son. Reception informed us that they were fully booked and could not do anything... More

Besides the room being awful the hotel staff failed to mention that the hotel is next to a nightclub and also has a nightclub behind it, which happened to be right behind our given room. The music was so loud neither of us could sleep. The staff didn't seem to care at all about this problem (obviously getting it a... More
