My colleague booked this hotel for a last minute trip. Upon arrival the hotel is impressive, if a little dated, the staff friendly. Once checked in and heading to our rooms we realised a mistake had made.... Corridors and rooms were dank, smelt of smoke and filthy. Beds were uncomfortable and don't get me started on breakfast. Book the Premier... More

We stayed here 25th February. After reading the reviews we were worried about what our stay was going to be like. The hotel's foyer is lovely and the staircase and chandeliers are beautiful. In its hay day it must have been a wonderful hotel. That said, our room was clean, warm, the water wasn't extreamly hot but warm enough. The... More

this was once a very opulent hotel with Hugh winding staircase large chandelier but things have slipped over the years I think a lot of money needs to be spent on the hotel things seem to be mixed up like the lounge bar with oak paneling display cabinets with silverware in and large bottles of Moët Chandon in the same... Hotel is value for money. For £45 a night is very reasonable which includes breakfast as well even though I did not get time to have it. Had to leave early. No complaints and if in the area again will stay. Back to London where I am working now. Cool.

I stayed here with my family for one night. We had to book two rooms as they wouldn't offer us a family room, which was fine. Upon arrival the entrence and look of the hotel is very grand and looks clean and welcoming. We got to our room (I was sharing with my sister and nephew, who's 4) the room... More

The room we were allocated was clean and apart from the carpets being slightly threadbare, it was ideal for our needs. Breakfast was very good and the two evening meals we had were quite varied and so we had choice. Excellent location with plenty to see and do; everything was in walking distance but there was plenty of taxis, local... More

Arrived at around 3PM, checked into a small room with wallpaper falling off the walls and some very historic technology. Half the lights didn't work, there were two in total. I didn't mind the room as it was only a place to sleep after a night out in Manchester. What did bother me was finding short curly hairs in the... More

After getting a deal on Wowcher and upgrading to a suite we expected something half decent . On entering hotel it's not too bad . Once you get to the rooms it's horrific . We had a four poster bed . A dirty grey net was wrapped around it - lovely ! There was a large hole in the bathroom... More

Well it's in a great location. Outside looks nice and the staff are nice. That's all the good bits. We got a groupon deal at this hotel so we only paid £79 for dinner with a bottle of wine 1 night stay in an executive room and breakfast. It's was pretty bad, stunk of fags, food was cheap and didn't... More
