In Manchester on business and the hotel I had intended to stay in wasn't available and was offered this. Afraid I should have read the reviews and avoided As others have said this place needs some serious renovation.. - Dirty low standard room without windows - Noisy ineffective air conditioning - Absolutely no warm / hot water, both taps freezing... We chose this because of the location and we need 1 night's accomodation and weren't arriving until 10pm. Thank god. The reception desk was disorganised. It took 3 attempts to get a key that worked, which when your room is 6 or 7 mins away (given the painfulyl slow lifts), add some considerable time to your checking in. We had... More

Not in the best area (red light district) We paid £29 for a superior room, which had a lounge area and spare sofa bed. The decor is a bit dated, but for the price we thought that the standard of accomodation was good. The front of house staff were great. Very friendly and welcoming, as were the bar and restaurant... I stayed here when on a training course. Initial impressions were favourable but when I got to my room I was a bit disappointed. Let us start with my room & the positives: 1) £2 a pint before 8pm 2) Good bed for those who suffer with bad backs Negatives: 1) It's the kind of place you bring a prostitute/escort... More

After reading the reviews on here I was very worried about mine and fiancée's visit. However I was surprised. Yes the hotel is tired but the room we were in (208) was very pleasant. The bed was very comfy and everything was clean. Because of the price we paid I felt that we got a fair deal. I did not... More
