We stayed at The Midland on a Thomas Cook match day break. The hotel was wonderful, lovely room, huge bed, spotless. The staff, especially the concierges we encountered, were unfailingly polite and helpful. A bonus was the fabulous inclusive breakfast, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, wonderful pastries....we didn't need lunch! A swim in the pool and a spell in the jacuzzi... More

This is not only one of Manchester iconic hotels but one of Manchester iconic buildings. It is centrally located with in easy reach of public transport and an NCP car park. I have visited the hotel frequently for afternoon tea but never stayed before so was looking forward to staying there to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday. Check-in was efficient... More

The location is great - many attractions of Manchester are in close vicinity to the hotel and as a public parking garage (though expensive) is just a few steps away one can easily get access to one's car to start longer expeditions. The breakfast buffet - which was included in the room price - was opulent, no need to order... More

This was a birthday treat for an amazing friend. We went to see le cirque du Soleil. Ate in China town and had an amazing stay at a The Midland. We both studied in Manchester and never imagined we'd ever stay in a The Midland. Really helpful staff, gorgeous room, lovely toiletries (bonus!!) great bar down stairs. The French restaurant... I stopped here with my wife on Saturday night whilst we were visiting GrillStock in Manchester. The Midland is ideally situated for anyone visiting the city centre and you can park in the underground car park beneath the conference centre just over the road. The room was really well sized, clean and comfortable. As there was a wedding at the... More

We stayed at the Midland hotel on Saturday 16th August, we were hoping it was going to be a trip down memory lane. We have not been to Manchester city centre for around 15 years as we moved south 20 years ago. We took out two daughters 21 and 19 thinking this would be such a treat! What a let... More

Great hotel, would say getting to it with the one way systems and road works that week was a task but once we arrived; concierge took our and car and got us to our rooms. Rooms were immaculate and for the money we paid great value for money. Would stay again and would come back to the midland .

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Midland several times over the years but always attending a conference organised by a local NW business. But recently whilst shopping in Manchester with family have popped in for afternoon tea..a haven of peace from the bustle outside and served by friendly and helpful staff. Do try it.
