We have just had another lovely night (Aug 29th) at the Midland. The hotel alone is a wonderful experience and on this occasion we didn't leave the hotel from checking in until checking out. Usually we go to the theatre, eat out, visit museums etc. However, this visit was all about the hotel being the 'experience' and we were not... More

Lovely hotel with character, very friendly and helpful staff, nice big room, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast very tasty and plentiful. Tram stop just next door so easy access out and about. Haven't got anything bad to say about this hotel.

I visited with my Grandma for an afternoon tea and wasn't disappointed. The restaurant bar area is lovely with a treat atmosphere. The food was beautiful, with the added extra of a glass of sherry of no additional fee with the traditional afternoon tea. Staff were very helpful and friendly without being obtrusive.

Yet another great weekend stay in the Midland. Staff as always attentive and respectful and the Concierge service first class. The interior of the hotel could do with a face lift and I am not a fan of the 'new' breakfast service, I preferred the old self service buffet style to the new continental or pay extra Full English. Nevertheless... More

This is a classic, imposing old hotel in the center of Manchester. The location is great, service was good and my room was large and comfortable. The hotel was the site of graduation photos for a local university when I was there, so the lobbying was bustling with kids in cap-and-gowns and proud parents, which gave it a fun, lively... More

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. When we arrived at 4.30pm we had to wait 10 minutes whilst the staff checked if our room was ready. We were offered complimentary drinks once we did have access to the room for the inconvenience. We know that things can sometimes not go quite right but it is the... More

We could not fault this hotel and staff. Lovely kingsize room all mod cons. There are road works out side hotel at moment which did concern us on arrival ,but being Bank holiday and 6 floor up there was no need for concern. Due to large numbers in the hotel, breakfast was being served in two areas. We had continental breakfast in... More

We travel regularly and we have a number of 'banker' hotels where we can be sure of a good stay. The Midland is one of them, and we return several times each year. It is very well run, with excellent staff, comfortable rooms and two super restaurants. If you are planning to eat at the hotel, do book a table... More

The history of the midland is worth being noted, you're going to be staying in a hotel thats instrumental to Manchester heritage and I felt that was certainly felt as you walked through their doors. Their decor was amazing and the welcome from the staff was very pleasant. We found our room to be large, clean, with a nice bathroom... More

My husband and I stayed here on the night before his birthday in April. We had a pleasant room but not with a view as it overlooked the inner courtyard. The bathroom was large with cute little toiletry bottles and lots of fluffy towels. I had a swim in the pool early the next morning which was fun.
