I stayed here for one night (a Friday) and found it to be a very quiet location. The hotel appeared full and had a mixed clientele - families, young people on night's out and people in Manchester to see events. I expected to hear noise through the night and was pleasantly surprised to have an uninterrupted sleep. My room was... more

As the last reviewer said, this may not be like staying in the Cotswolds, and I wouldn't stroll around the surrounding area at night with fistfuls of cash, but it didn't seem any worse than other areas of Manchester (or any other big city), including the town centre at 3am. The hotel was as you'd expect a holiday inn -... more

OK - Denton & the eastern stretch of the A57 are not amongst Manchester's better areas but any fears that other reviewers expressed about personal safety are, in my opinion, as valid in many other parts of the city and maybe moreso in the city centre. Set just off the A57 next to a gym, a McDonald's and a 'Two... more

Again I read reviews of hotel before staying and was quite nervous about my stay but this was soon put to rest when I arrived at the hotel. I found the hotel with no problems after following the directions on the Holiday Inn website. There is ample free car parking and was able to park right outside the hotel front... more

Drove past it first time round, and the sat nav kept taking me to a pedestrian only lane.... Should have known then! The area is a bit worrying, and the signs about securing valuables etc are less than comforting. Room was okay, not great. Nowhere round about to eat, so the chap at reception recommended a Chinese takeaway, but the... more

I booked this one as the HI Express at Salford Quays was £30 more expensive and they've irritated me on the last couple of stays. This one was absolutely fine and in terms of service, much better than Salford Quays. A warm welcome on check-in and friendly service when checking out and during breakfast. The rooms are standard HI Express.... more

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Manchester East for 1 night on Saturday the 26th June and really don't understand the bad reviews..... We booked it because of its location, just outside Manchester, so we could go to Bellevue Stadium, as it is only a short taxi ride away from the stadium. I read the reviews on Trip Advisor the... more

Situated in a run down area of Manchester this hotel is not the best. I wouldn't recommend walking around this area at night and the hotel had posters advising to watch your valuables in cars etc which didn't give us much confidence. The hotel itself is pretty run down and the net curtains in our room were pretty shabby. It... more

This is the worst Express by Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in. Before we even got in the Hotel there's posters from the police on the door warning car owners about the risk of break ins in the car park and again this poster is on the wall behind Reception. Reception wasn't manned and there was no sign of... more

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, my husband, myself and my two children. I found it to be excellent value as the price you pay is the price for the room and not per person. The continental buffet breakfast is very good as you can fill yourself up with a good selection of cereals, pastries, juices, yoghurts, toast,... more
