I fail to see how this could actually be called a hotel. It reminded me of bedsit land run by dodgy rogue landlords. We were on the top floor and I was astonished at how bad it is....definitely not worth the £50 per night charged. Where can I start...the furniture looked as though it was picked up as a job... As others said, the hotel has probably seen better days, decor wise. However my room was neat and clean with shower and loo.Excellent value for central Manchester at £35 for the night. I'd return there.

The pub itself is cosy and friendly although definitely needs some tlc.Our room was cheap and very basic, but the bedding was clean. The en-suite was disgusting, and smelt dreadful. It needed a good clean.

Seriously, some of the reviews and ratings are too harsh. They'd be fair if the accommodation was expensive, but it's ridiculously cheap especially considering the location. If all you need is a comfy bed, good access to the center, warmth and like myself, are rather skint, this is the place to be! Moreover, the place isn't dirty as suggested by... More

Booked through booking.com Some of the reviews are very very harsh. It's a nice old hotel in the centre of manchester. It's cheap and you get what you pay for, it's not trying to be 4 star. Standard room, standard bathroom, clean and I think that's all you can ask for for the price. Would stay again 100%

OK, when I say met expectations, I will explain - basically, this place cost us 50 quid to stay. On a Friday night. Which in Manchester City centre, is pretty good. Thats probably the only redeeming feature. Bloke who showed us where the room was good enough. Then you go upstairs and see the horror unfold. Random holes in walls,... More

I second all the terrible reviews, sometimes people over exaggerate, but not in this case!! This is certainly one to avoid. The location is ideal for bars and restaurants in the area but still not worth putting yourself through the experience.

I booked this hotel for my wife & I as we were visiting coronation street . Apparently the hotel had featured in some episodes & I thought it would be nice . Unfortunately upon arrival it seems the episodes it was in must have been the tram crash . Mattresses on the roof , car with featured garden in it... More
