To start off with the front of the building looked run down and dirty and need of TLC. Even the taxi driver could not believe that it was a hotel and he even said the hotel looks very different to what it looks like on the picture. He even waited until someone opened the door because he was worried that... More

Booked last minute because I was going to visit the coronation street tour. Don't know the owners name, he didn't say. Our room was on the top floor, very steep steps. No offers of help with luggage offered. The bedding was ok. Smelt very fresh. That's the only plus I can offer. Everything else in the room was very grubby... More

This so called hotel is need of demolition as no amount if cleaning could bring this place up to an acceptable standard in anyone's book. The owner is just rude and the building is old and dirty just like the rooms. Do not believe the pictures and description put on by the owner they are far far far from the... More

I've never stayed in a worse place, had to stay here as a last resort after missing last train on the night of a concert. Only paid £50, but surprised I left without catching something. The toilet didn't even have a door on and the fire alarm was just sat on the bed side table with no batteries in. Please... More

Would not stay here again if someone paid me. There is carpet in the bathroom without mats and stinks of damp. Holes in the walls, disgusting decor, was provided only half a roll of toilet paper and no staff to be seen all weekend. The list could go on....

As soon as I walked into this place, the first thing that crossed my mind is does this breach my human rights? Firstly, where is reception? The bar was supposedly the place you picked up your keys and I'm sure any drink you'd get from there would poison you. Secondly, when we got to the room, the windows had cracks... More

This was clearly not going to be a five star establishment, but it did everything that was needed. The location could not really be much better, the price was very reasonable for a big city, and the place had real character. I am rather fearful that this hotel might not exist much longer, as the whole building appears to be... More

I am sure that in its day this hotel was of good standard but unfortunately those days have gone. I dont mind old fashioned or a hotchpotch of furniture but my concerns were over safety issues. Loose carpet on stairs, bedroom window did not open as both sash cords broken, dodgy looking electrical cables taped to the walls, door did... More

Only stayed here a night and that was enough. The outside of the hotel is a mess with junk all around and smashed / missing windows. Not a great start. The actual pub is quite quaint and the real fires are a nice touch. Didn't actually drink in the pub though. The location is quite good, but that's pretty much... More

I fail to see how this could actually be called a hotel. It reminded me of bedsit land run by dodgy rogue landlords. We were on the top floor and I was astonished at how bad it is....definitely not worth the £50 per night charged. Where can I start...the furniture looked as though it was picked up as a job...
