Stayed here for two nights in October 2014 and overall the experience was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable, the duvet cover was stained (!) and the towels were ripped and clearly long past their sell by date. For some reason I couldn't get BBC 1 on the TV in my room. The staff were quite sullen and unwelcoming and the breakfasts... More

Stayed for one night on a saturday to break a long road journey. Spacious and comfortable room with wifi and a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning. Friendly and welcoming staff and very good value for the Cotswolds.

Stayed here with a couple of mates doing the Cotswold Way. Great wee pub with sky sports and good dartboard. Bizarrely they have an Indian restaurant out back attached to the pub. Room was spacious and clean and decent breakfasts. £105 all in. Cracking village with loads of good pubs/restaurants, will be back with my wife !

Excellent place to stay with helpful staff. The attached Maharaja restaurant is excellent and does a very nice take - away option. The front rooms are a little noisy on a Friday / Saturday night when the pub gets busy.

Very typical place to stay in. You can really get into the spirits of the town. I had read in a review that sometimes place can be noisy due to the pub but they were kind enough to put us in a rear room were we had no nise problems. Room and bathroom were big and nice. Clean place. Breakfast... More

We stayed here in 2013 and had a brilliant time, so when we got the chance to have a child free night away it was a no-brainer where we would stay. We weren't disappointed! We love this place. Its so relaxed and friendly. The pub is great. The staff are delightful and the attached curry house is spot on. Possibly... More

This was our first time to Europe, for our 35th wedding anniversary. We had no idea what we were doing. We had always wanted to visit the Cotswolds. The Volunteer Inn was perfect. Beautiful experience, nothing like anything in US. Everyone was very friendly, we stayed 3 days and loved every minute of the experience. It was very very clean.... More

When I arrived I had a lot of trouble finding someone to check in with, and the owner wasn't the friendliest sort. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and the bathroom was a decent size. They also had wifi access that worked, along with a fairly comfortable bed, and heat. The pub was busy, and the breakfast was actually pretty well... More

We were treated wonderfully by Peter and his wife and the bar staff. The room was clean and quiet and it was easy to rent bikes from them too ( their maps were very helpful). There were a few moments of noise coming from the owners' children but it wasnt a big deal and they were charming most of the... More

Having enjoyed staying at many country inns the Volunteer was a real disappointment. The welcome was friendly enough but the room was small, with hardly enough room to get between the two single beds. A double would have been more comfortable. There was no bedside light so I had to walk across to the door to switch the light out... More

Thank you for your comments. As stated on our web site rooms 4 and 5 can be noisy as they are situated above the courtyard. We are licensed until midnight...Licensing authorities please note....always good to get the facts right prior to passing comment More
