We spent a Friday, Saturday and Sunday night here, one night in the "Jethro" suite on the ground floor (a complimentary upgrade) and two in the "Dover" on the top floor. Other reviewers have complained about the dirt and dust; I have to agree. In the ground floor room, light levels are perhaps mercifully low, but we liked the funky... more

Having visited the Cotswolds and eaten at the Red Lion over the past 5 years, we booked a couple of nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived early afternoon and the restaurant was busy. We were asked to wait in the bar area behind the restaurant until the waitress could spare time to take us to our room. A... more

We have recently had a one night stay, the village is beautiful, but i can gladly say we were only staying one night..... There is no reception on check in but the lady behind the bar gladly showed us to our room, this was located on the top floor (old slap) room name. This room is very small if your are... more

The village of chipping campden is a beautiful place, my husband and I have been before. Out friends came along for a lovely weekend away!!! how we were disappointed. The owner was very welcoming offering us coffee and tea. We were shown to our rooms which had just been cleaned ( or not). Our room on first glance was lovely,... more

Initially we were very pleasantly surprised. Town and outside of pub were beautiful and well kept. The owner was extremely welcoming and you could tell was very good with customers and had therefore built up a great business BUT... his son and wife are running it now. The rooms are dirty - require dusting, polishing and cleaning. The bathrooms need... more

Amazing old 16th century inn at Chipping Campden; a town worth the stop. The restaurant served amazing food in a great atmosphere and the bar was great. The owners were very friendly and attentive. Shame about the room though. The bedroom was newly painted, furniture fairly new, but the carpet was old and not very clean and the on the... more

Very nice room annexed to the restaurant and pub. The landlord is very friendly and helpful. Late check out time compare to others. Also free parking available on the site. If you like a few pints of beer in the evening and not woory about walking too far away, this is a good choice. more

The inn is very pleasant, centrally located, with a combination of 16th century charm and 21st century bathrooms. It is not deluxe, but charming and not expensive. The real plus is the staff, who were all friendly and went out of their way for us. They also were the most accomodating of all the inns I called about setting up... more

Stayed one night at The Red Lion on the way back from a holiday in Cornwall. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door, the food was delicious and the room was clean, nicely decorated and had a really comfy bed! more
