We arrived for Christmas Dinner to see a lovely warm atmosphere with open fires and and friendly staff. The meal was enjoyed by all of us and we spent 3 very pleasant hours in nice company. Will return at later date to sample more.

Rooms are found at the side of the lovely oldy worldy pub. Tracy was very chatty and friendly. Rooms recently renovated to a high spec, shower in room. No noise from other rooms, evening meal was very nice would recommend in a heartbeat.

We spent one night in this lovely little inn. The rooms are fairly small but perfectly well appointed, very comfortable bed , immaculately clean, plenty of hot watertea and coffee making facilities, TV in the room. The food was good , breakfast was huge and well cooked, staff very polite and helpful. Situated right on the high street, very good value... More

Thank you for your positive comments following your stay with us - our rooms vary in size according to which you book. The 4 poster room is our largest with a walk in shower and roll top bath, with the eves doubles being quaint but characterful. Tracy More

WE (my husband & I and another couple) had a great 4 night stay at the Red Lion Inn. Tracy,Family & staff were very accommodating and helpful. Loved this Old world Inn and the room under the eves was fun to be in (husband is 6' and had a few giggles about him coming into the building and room). Used... More

Old-worldy Inn ideally located in the middle of lovely Cotswold village. Rooms have their own entrance from a side street. I has one of the eaves rooms. I was told it was tight when I booked, and tight it is. Nicely decorated and characterful. Reasonable breakfast.

I stayed here for a night on business. The hotel staff are wonderful, and it is a lovely buidling in a fantastic location. There is a car park and a nice pub. Being an old building the rooms can be quite noisy from the other guests, but I guess this is expected. My room was OK, but for what I... More

Thank you for your possitive comments on our staff. We have recently finished a refurbishments programme in the rooms with everything being updated and replaced - furniture, bathrooms, carpets etc. All rooms have TV, tea, coffee and water and ensuite facilities, so I am not sure what else you would have liked us to provide - you didnt inform us... We had a twin room. While the room was charming, my bed could definitely have used a new mattress. It wasn't overly noisy even though it is over the pub as the rooms face out over the side street. Breakfast was very mediocre. There is wifi in the bars and gardens, but the very thick walls interfere with wifi in... More

Thank you for your comments - we have recently finished a refurbishment programme where everything was replaced in the rooms - carpets, bathrooms, furniture and beds - these beds are only 4 months old - we are sorry the mattress was not to your liking - however this is the first complaint we have received since finishing the rooms -... Our hotel room was very nice, and a good value. The cost was under 90 pounds. The dinner restaurant was good and the breakfast was good. Wifi is only available in one of the bars. I enjoyed staying here and having two meals in this small, historic village inn. Located in the center of a beautiful town. Good service.

Thank you for your possitive comments - as you say in your comments our description does inform guests that it is a small double - however we still get lots of possitive comments on the room. Wifi is available in both of our bars and in the outside seating area. We are looking to get it installed in the accommodation... More

If we stay here again we will try to get a room not at the top. We are both reasonably tall so the sloping ceilings were problematic. The description on booking.com did say small room and it was the only one available, so we got what we were told. However the room is clean and well appointed and the breakfast... More

We booked the Red Lion via Booking.com, we stayed just one night on Sat 13th September, our ruby wedding anniversary was on the 14th, we did mention this on the notes for the booking. Firstly the negatives, our foom was very small and claustraphobic, right on the junction of a busy road, loud traffic noise all night, the shower for... More

Thank you for your comments - we would like to take the opportunity to let you know we will be installing secondary glazing over the winter months - this will help alleviate noise issues. The room you chose does state in the description that it is in the eves, with sloping ceilings, this is a feature a lot of guests... More
