We stayed in the Red Lion for one night. Our room was in the cottage next door which has been converted into bedrooms, so you really get no noise from the pub whatsoever. It was a comfortable room on the first floor, with an en suite bathroom which had quite a nice large shower unit rather than a bath. The... More

There was nothing really wrong with the Red Lion Inn. Its just that it did not stack up to some of the other places we stayed during our three-week trip through Great Britain. The room was nice enough but the WiFi did not work well at all; this was anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast again was OK. We did... More

Thank you for your comments following your stay with us - I am not sure why the wifi did not work for you as we have not had anyone else raise any issues over the past few weeks. The one is the main bar works constantly as we use it for our till system and booking system. No one in... More

Went with friends, all six of us locals. Lovely, well cooked, straightforward food. Easy to enjoy a conversation with other diners if you wish as atmosphere so friendly. Good beers and wine. Will definitely go back.

A lovely nights stay in a beautiful part of the world. Our room was more than I expected, with a huge bathroom, all spotless and clean. A very comfortable four poster bed with clean crisp white bed linen. Food was good and breakfast was also cooked to perfection with entertainment from Oscar the parrot. Thank you for a good time... We stayed at the Red Lion as part of our walk in the Cotswold. Our room was "Old Slap" at the top of the stairs. We weren't quite sure what to expect since this was our first time staying above a pub. The room was adequate but could do with placing a mirror in the room. We had a comfortable... More

We popped in for an early lunch as the menu, posted outside, appeared unpretentious and reasonably priced. We were glad to have been early as the dining area filled up remarkably quickly. The food was excellent, home cooked with generous portions. The service was personal, friendly and attentive. It was a refreshing experience in that the establishment doesn't pretend to... More

My wife and I ("me and my wife" for my co-nationals...) loved this place! What an experience! Think about it, this was a 200 year old inn at the time Paul Revere was riding his horse at night and General Washington was courting Martha! It is immaculately clean, food is excellent, the Net works great, the staff are very nice... More

I travel a lot both with business and pleasure On this occasion it was a business trip but I will return for a weekend with the wife. (Yes that's classed as pleasure) What a great homely place with bags of character I went on a Monday night and the restaurant was heaving with people who were literally from all over... More

We booked the last room up in the attic - recently refurbished with a 'boutique' feel. Spotlessly clean with real character. Surprising quiet at night so a good night's sleep on very comfy bed. Breakfast taken in the Inn - very good and location very central. Staff all pleasant - would gladly stay here again.

Lovely room which was booked as a small double but more than adequate. Reasonable evening meal and breakfast. Bearing in mind the very reasonable price for the accommodation and the fact we were allowed to book for just one night at a week end make this excellent value for money - you really can not ask much more!
