It's a bit of a culinary wasteland in this area, but the Angel has been a great discovery to relieve that lack of good grub. Lovely, generous portions of expertly cooked meals and at such good prices. A great discovery that we'll use over and over.

Embarrassed to admit our friends from Rothwell booked us in here -and we only live a short drive away! Superb locally sourced food, expertly cooked, and served with care and pride. A fab meal, excellent service, pleasant seating arrangements, attentive staff giid price. The food itself well cooked and well presented using fresh and local fayre where ever possible. We will certainly be back again for a girlies night out

We have dined at the Angel on many an occasion and it has never let us down. Hidden away is this cosy pub with great food and beer, fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere. The mushrooms with balsamic vinegar are gorgeous, as is the steak and ale pie. Certainly the best pub servicing food for miles around.

The food is great and the beer's excellent so if you just want a meal this is a really lovely pub.
