I stayed at this hotel for a whole month. At first I thought it was overpriced. The newly refurbished rooms are excellent but the old rooms were not up to much at all. The staff at reception seemed initially very surley. However, this was a wrong first impression. They turned out to be extremely helpful. I was treated very well... more

We found The Earl on the internet, whilst trying to book a hotel convenient to the racecourse, for the St Leger, and of the hotels with rooms still available this one was closest, so we booked it back in February We arrived for our 3 night stay on Thursday afternoon, and drove past it first, as it doesn't look like... more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We chose this hotel as it had secure parking on site. We upgraded to a luxury room as a treat but found the only difference between this and the standard double was a walk-in shower! All the rooms we saw were the same as ours - small, but nice. No fridge in the room,... more

Stayed here for a wedding reception, I was best man and the day all in all was very good form the reception point of view. very good service and staff were friendly, the ballroom was a good setting for the reception, however some air con in there really would not go a miss! The rooms however is another story. The... more

Outside - I almost missed it as it looks so uninspiring and not like a hotel at all. But apparently the frontage is being sorted out soon. Large car park round the back which you get to from a road at the back of the hotel. Reception - Lovely and stylish, although reception desk is too high. I'm 5 ft... more

The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk out of town, on what is supposed to be a main road but in practice is very quiet. The spacious public areas have preserved their glorious Art Deco style and are worth seeing. I stayed for 1 night in a single room at the front of the building (room 301). I am... more

My family and I stayed at the Earl of Doncaster Hotel while visiting family members for the wekend. The entrance to the Earl is stunning, the flooring is very stylish, you can definately see the owner has spent alot of money. From the moment we checked in the staff couldnt be more friendly and helpful. We had some bar snacks... more

This hotel is living proof that staff make or break hotels. In this case they absolutely ruin it. I was given a room that had a blocked sink so I went down to ask if it could be remedied and was told: - there was no plumber on site - I would have to be downgraded to a lower class... more
