The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk out of town, on what is supposed to be a main road but in practice is very quiet. The spacious public areas have preserved their glorious Art Deco style and are worth seeing. I stayed for 1 night in a single room at the front of the building (room 301). I am... more

My family and I stayed at the Earl of Doncaster Hotel while visiting family members for the wekend. The entrance to the Earl is stunning, the flooring is very stylish, you can definately see the owner has spent alot of money. From the moment we checked in the staff couldnt be more friendly and helpful. We had some bar snacks... more

This hotel is living proof that staff make or break hotels. In this case they absolutely ruin it. I was given a room that had a blocked sink so I went down to ask if it could be remedied and was told: - there was no plumber on site - I would have to be downgraded to a lower class... more

What can I say? On arrival, the receptionist was reasonably friendly, and the immediate impression was of a semi-posh 1930s interior. Looking good ...... That's where the positives end! Away from the reception and bar/restaurant, The Earl has the feel of a house that needs remedial scrubbing. The dark carpets in the hotel require steam cleaning or complete renewal -... more

We stayed on business and were met by a very friendly but professional night porter who went out of his way to welcome us and let us in and out (when we ventured over the road to the local pub, which was also nice). The room was luxurious but a little cold as not many guests staying when we were... more

Stayed for a week on business. The room was a little dated however staff seem to be friendly and of good humour. Price was a little steep but it serves one of the best breakfasts. more

We recently stayed at this hotel and i would safely say in all my travels this has been the worst experience ever.. Just avoid this hotel like the plague... The staff were the worst I have ever met the room had no heating working at all and was dirty, damp and outdated. I could go on but it would take... more

I wasn't sure about this place after seeing some of the reviews, but having to go to Doncaster to do some family tree research and not having a vehicle, I was looking for a decent place in the city that was convenient for walking and the city buses. The lobby was in need of a bit of a sweep (which... more

Where was everyone? I stayed here for one night and it was fine. Nice room, quiet despite being on a main road. No-one ate in the restaurant so I went elsewhere. Breakfast seemed to be freshly cooked and it was good and hot. I can't understand why no-one else was here! more
