So here we are, in the middle of Doncaster, on a Saturday night. It isn't the fault of the Danum that it is located on the crossroads of what resembles the unfettered mayhem of downtown Boulder City in the middle of the Gold Rush years. The noise, the drunkenness, the slobbish behaviour, the vomit....it is disgusting. Ibiza without the beach... More

It's obvious that this was once a beautiful hotel. The building is grand and has lots of original features. It's such a shame that the current owners know as much about hotel management as I know about quantum physics (not a lot). Generally, as long as the room is clean, we're not that bothered about the frills, it was only... More

Stayed here when we were guests of a friends wedding. Wanted somewhere central and the price we paid seemed good value. The hotel itself is in dire need of a refurb, everywhere! Our room was adequate but I think the mattress was older than me as I could feel every spring digging into me when I laid on it! No... More

A very good central location, close to the nightlife (which could be heard from the second floor rooms if the windows were open). The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and perfectly comfortable and great value for money. I would definitely stop there again.

Staying here because of work, hotel needs a complete refurbishment as it is very dated. Room very shabby but it was clean. Cold water tap would not turn on. You have to keep getting your key card done every day. Had meal on the first night, ordered gammon and then told they did not have any pineapple, can live with... More

I stayed in the Danum hotel recently as part of a scheduled Tour de France excursion (mentioned in other reviews). Overall the experience was shocking and was as close to a real-life Fawlty Towers as you can imagine. At any point I expected John Cleese to goose step through reception. There were many faults, however I list a selection -... More

Staff were really friendly and helpful, that's all I can say, the place itself is a dump...oh, as is Doncaster, why anyone would want to go there is beyond me. I only went as part of an organised Tour de France excursion ....never again.
