I spent two nights at this hotel as part of a large party during March. While there were definitely some positives(room size, clean facilities etc) the overall experience was marred by the hotel reception staff who need some training in customer service! more

Stayed here for one night in April 2008 celebrating our wedding anniversary. We live locally, but have spent several nights here over the last few years on special occasions. Since our last visit in Feb 2007 the front of the hotel has had a complete facelift - instead of going through a tiny door there are now glass sliding doors... more

I simply cannot fault this hotel. The setting is lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard. The beds are huge, I could go on.... I would recommend this hotel 100% and will definitely keep booking here when I need to stay in the area. more

I stayed at this hotel for one night whilst on business last week. My single room was surprisingly spacious, with a four poster double bed, two big sofas and a large tv (the bath was also far larger than average!) It was situated at the back of the hotel, so I heard no noise from the main road out at... more

We stayed here for one Saturday night with our 16 month old baby. The hotel appears to be very well managed. The reception, bar and lounge areas have been updated recently. All was very clean, bright and pleasant. There were always plenty of staff around willing to help (bringing highchairs etc). We knew there was a big function on and... more

I visit this area on business at least fortnightly and often weekly and have done so for the last two years. I have never had a bad experience at this hotel. Every room, I am gradually working through the entire hotel, is individual and in its way superb. Even the cheapest rooms have large comfortable beds, lounge areas and desks.... more

I visited the Mount Pleasant Hotel just after Christmas. When I arrived the hotel was extremely quiet which to be honest was slightly offputting at first, but considering it was a Sunday night in January it was maybe to be expected. Checking in was a real pleasure and the girl at reception could not do enough to make me feel... more

We have just returned from a two night stay at Mount Pleasant and we can certainly recommend it very highly. Our room was superb, we booked an executive one in order to have a larger bed than the standard one. The bathroom was excellent, thick fluffy towels, big bath, great shower and plenty of hot water. It was zero outside... more

I Having just checked out of this hotel (05/01/07) I feel compelled to write and explain what one can expect when staying at the Mount Pleasant. Upon arriving at reception they did have my reservation – although this was efficient it was also unfortunate, as this was the ONLY thing they managed to get right. I booked one of the... more
