Many guests commend Village Hotel - Birmingham Dudley for its cleanliness and convenient location, with easy access to dining and attractions despite the parking fee annoyance. The hotel's sports lounge, pool, and gym are popular, though there's room for improvement in service, particularly with food and elevator issues.
While the rooms are lauded for their cleanliness, some travelers find them to be poorly lit and temperature controlled, with noise disruptions. Opinions on value are split, with some guests finding it reasonable and others questioning the extra charges.

Stayed new years eve staff miserable. Room freezing cold no heating in room. No more plug in heaters to give us. Bathroom was full of mold so couldn't shower had to get another duvet but still freezing cold had to use a hair dryer to get a bit of warmth slept in our clothes and coat and ended up ill after staying. Breakfast was cold not a lot of options took 15 minutes to get vegan sausages and they tasted awful beans watery. Was issued a refund but it took 1 month to get it. I will never stay here again.

Response from SIMON DOYLE, General Manager at Village Hotel - Birmingham Dudley
Responded Feb 2, 2024
Hi Keepitrealprecious, I very sorry to hear of your experience at the hotel on New Years Eve and apologise on behalf of the team. I have recently joined the property and will be working to understand all aspects of the customer journey and to drive improvements in service and standards. I do hope that you will return to the property at some point in the future so we can demonstrate that this was an isolated issue and improvements have been implemented. Ideally I would prefer to communicate directly with you to gain some information such as the room numbers and some more detail on your experience, I'm unable to do this through Trip Advisor, however, if you wish to contact the hotel I would be happy to discuss this in more detail. Kind Regards Simon Doyle General Manager

Response from SIMON DOYLE, General Manager at Village Hotel - Birmingham Dudley
Responded Feb 1, 2024
Hi Harpreetriaar, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I'm naturally disappointed to read your comments on the service levels and surprised as both Nathan and Tara generate really positive reviews and feedback. On a daily basis, the team and I review all guest feedback to ensure we are quick to action any areas that may be negatively impacting ratings and service levels. The business prides itself on providing the best levels of customer service to our guests and leisure club members. I will, of course, discuss your feedback with the team to prevent any such reviews in the future. I do hope you will return to the business again in the near future so we can demonstrate the usual fabulous service levels at Village Dudley. Regards SImon Doyle General Manager

The Hotel is easily accessible from the motorways , clean and welcoming. Check in was an easy process and the rooms are clean and comfortable, though the walls are paper thin. A couple next door to us having very noisy sex and sounded like they were coming through our wall with the bed, at 1.30 a.m. and again at 6.30 a.m. Food was good, especially the breakfast. However the bar prices are extortionate and unnecessary. We were disturbed again at 2.45 a.m. because someone had removed a smoke alarm from the ceiling in their room and triggered the alarms, and the hotel had to be evacuated. We were outside for 15 minutes. No fire brigade attendance.

Constant vibration rumble coming from one wall causing mirror to vibrate. Breakfast was steamed in the serving dish and no real selection. Went to restaurant across road because the food was expensive at the village.

We were really looking forward too staying the night as a couple, we booked on the day with the January sale, unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we had to leave after the meal and was not aloud to move our stay to the following day so we had to travel back in the morning to take advantage of the breakfast we had paid extra for also. Seemed a nice place just a shame not more understanding.

The self check in wouldn’t work as 2 guests were registered on the booking and apparently only one name is allowed. There was only one towel in the room despite 2 guests. There was mould on the ceiling and the holder for the shower head was broken so it had to be held during the duration. Food was good in the bar/grill but extremely expensive for the size of the meal.

We visited on Boxing Day using the Village as a Base visiting friends in West Midlands. The location was ideal for this purpose. The leisure complex along with the friendly staff added to the stay. The rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast was fine with good choice of self service foods.

This is purely a review based on the New Years Eve event my friends and I attended at the pub and grill ! Tickets were £35 each which included a 2 course meal and a disco!! I booked the event after speaking to a very helpful young gentleman called Nathan. The staff behind the bar were exceptionally friendly and welcoming although I did feel the price of drinks was a little high!! The food served was absolutely gorgeous. The security were fantastic and not the normal miserable security that you mainly see nowadays!! There was only one let down for me and that was the DJ … you would expect a DJ on NYE to be getting people involved but he really looked like he didn’t want to be there in all honesty!! Only heard him speak once and that was an announcement that it was 5 minutes…

Sadly I was disappointed by my Xmas day lunch with my friend. The main problems being: Not enough waiting staff, so we had a 20 minute wait between starter and main. The Turkey main was served on plates which were almost cold and this resulted in cold gravy which was already on the plate. The portions were small (less in size than the small Sunday roast I normally have somewhere else). Neither my friend or I were able to eat the Xmas pud and ?brandy sauce. The sauce was cold, the pudding was cold, hard, dry and unpalatable. The dining room must have had over 100 covers and it was very noisy and difficult to have conversation. Needless to say we will not be returning here next year.

Lovely hotel lots to do all around. We went to pictures which is next door and came back to watch footy but bar area surrounded by small air con units blowing cold air, I went to bar to ask if they could turn them down or fan speed but staff asked other staff and none of them had any idea how to do it, Basically didn’t spoil evening but bit strange sitting in bar area with big coat on as were most of other guests.
