Stayed here a few times and there's been some refurbishment of the rooms, especially the bathrooms. For what you pay per person it's functional and meets the needs for a lads drinking weekend..., bed, shower and breakfast. Tom and Co are always friendly and helpful and the quality of the Bathams is superb. No doubt we will return next time... More

Have been to this pub ( too many times) but keeping going back for more. A proper pub with the old fashioned bar a back lounge and an enormous function room . Sometimes they have groups but it cannot outdo the quality of the Bathams Bitter. To add extra they have attached a rentable accommodation.

I stayed on the 24th october 2015. After reading reviews I was very disappointed. The staff were not very friendly, the room was dated and there was mold on one wall, beds very uncomfortable. The shower room was nice but other end of corridor. I was very cold in the night. as no heater access and the radiator was cold.... More

Had a lovely stay at The Lamp. Everyone including locals, staff and manager went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and comfortable and en suite superb. Can thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Dudley and surrounding areas.

Stayed here on a few occasions, all through working locally. The ale is good, the staff are pleasant enough. The rooms are clean and functional and well upto the price paid. Hotel is within walking distance of Dudley town centre too. The manager and his wife are very nice and after I'd been there for a while he offered me... More

Room: Very basic, no frills.. Bed: Very comfortable.. Breakfast: Excellent.. Don't expect anything but a very basic room, with dated bathroom.. It was in a quiet position, and was fine for a one night stay.. The highlight was the breakfast, which was fab.. It was cooked fresh, and was served hot, a proper English fry up..

Visited on a Wednesday just after 6pm, was surprised at how busy this restaurant soon got, food was excellent, good service, I had Chicken Pathia and it was lovely, I would book before you visit as it seems very popular, men were given a small glass of whiskey and ladies had Baileys, and chocolate when the bill was paid, a... Stayed at the Lamp Tavern for one night , two words come to mind S--t H--e, have never stayed in such an awful place. The room was dark, dreary dated and grubby with cigarette burns in the filthy carpet!! the bathroom was so old it reminded me of an old NHS bathroom from back in the day!!!! The only improvement... Two night stay at the Lamp Tavern - in fact in the "cottage" beside the Tavern - so you are not disturbed by any noise. In fact, although I was on a ground floor, the room was very quiet. Basic room, although they say they are to be upgraded. I would have liked a bedside light to save climbing out... More

2 night stay at The Lamp, rooms basic but comfy but the thing that elevates The Lamp is their customer service. Turned up for breakfast on first morning to a fantastic cooked breakfast inc black pudding, when finished asked for a cab number to which the landlord Tom said "don't worry I'll give you a lift" . Lady behind the... More
