Two night stay at the Lamp Tavern - in fact in the "cottage" beside the Tavern - so you are not disturbed by any noise. In fact, although I was on a ground floor, the room was very quiet. Basic room, although they say they are to be upgraded. I would have liked a bedside light to save climbing out... More

2 night stay at The Lamp, rooms basic but comfy but the thing that elevates The Lamp is their customer service. Turned up for breakfast on first morning to a fantastic cooked breakfast inc black pudding, when finished asked for a cab number to which the landlord Tom said "don't worry I'll give you a lift" . Lady behind the... More

As with previous references can only say one of the best pubs in the UK. This is a PROPER one and not a plastic version. A little bar next to a nice little lounge gives the right atmosphere for a night on the tiles. It may not be a BISTRO/MODERN EATERIE NOR IS IT ANYTHING ELSE but a great pub... More

He asked me what time we would like to attend breakfast the next morning so that he... More

I was taken outside the pub(which was a dump) to another building, up and down stairs where wallpaper was coming off walls and the carpet had seen better days. Room 2, which I was told had the largest on-suite. The walls were wallpapered in an anigliptor old style painted pink with tired paintwork, chipped and old woodwork. the ceiling paper... More

Stayed here after attending a family party so we could both sample the great Batham's beer without worrying about driving home. The room was warm and spacious with the essentials (kettle, tea bags, coffee, milk & sugar, tv with remote, towels) and the bed was comfortable, but we could hear talking from adjoining rooms. Breakfast (extra and must be ordered... More
