Me & my partner stayed New Years Eve. The room & bathroom were modern & clean. The lady who checked us in was really friendly as was the gentleman who checked us out. The only negatives of our stay was firsty there was no milk with the tea & coffee facilities in the room - which seemed deliberate, as when... More

A very enjoyable stay. Lovely food from a wide ranging menu, helpful and friendly staff and my room was very comfortable. Good value for money. I booked my car parking space a week early as they only have four! Perfect place for my requirements. I shall be back

Stayed again for a couple of nights whilst visiting family just after just Christmas. Once again I cannot fault the rooms and service. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Being able to have fresh milk in the room is a great touch. Dined in the hotel on Boxing Day and as usual the food was up to its excellent standard.... More

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are on the small size but stylishly adapted in an old building. There is free WIFI and the food is great, including breakfast. The staff are helpful and friendly and I am booking my third stay soon.

Stayed at the Penny Bridge for a few nights mid week whilst visiting Lancaster on business. The Penny Bridge is well located in the centre of Lancaster near to a public pay car park. The rooms are well appointed with a modern contemporary style contrasting well against the original Victorian building design. The public rooms are light and airy with... More

Last year we took a mid term mid week break in Lancaster and luckily picked The Penny Street Bridge hotel. We like it a lot and this year returned for a long weekend of the Lancaster Music Festival. It was a great combination. The hotel has character and you will occasionally see a sign about water on the back stairs.... More

They have a magic Chef here, food is fantastic, the beer is kept well and the staff are amiable and helpful. This is an old building it has uneven floors and has been adapted throughout, but every effort has been made for the comfort of guests and our room was absolutely spotless. Just little gripes I think the management should... More

Arriving mid evening on a cold and miserable wet November Friday, after being delayed on the M6 was not a good start to our weekend. Neither was being faced by three out of four parking spaces being occupied and the fourth barred against us. We didn't fancy lugging our cases in from the nearby public car park! However, it turned... More

Stayed here for one night. It was a Saturday.....beware if staying in rooms 1 to 15 as these rooms face the main road and directly opposite 'Revolution' bar which is quite noisy until early hours. Had a disturbed nights sleep even though a set of ear plugs were provided in a bed side drawer so this is something the establishment... More

Yes unfortunately being right in the city centre can sometimes have its down falls, the windows are triple glazed but we are very much aware that some people are more sensitive to noise than others, hence the ear plugs. We do have a plentiful stash at reception for anyone wanting more than one set, but they are generally not used... More

Retrofitting a historic listed building from 1785 as a contemporary boutique hotel is a difficult feat to achieve, especially as you have to retain the architectural integrity of the original. Penny Street Bridge Hotel is a delight. The bedrooms, with enormous high ceilings are almost cubic in dimension. Not a lot of floor space, but enough to feel comfortable and... More
