I won't be too negative about this hotel because I paid a very reasonable price for it and it was adequate. However, it was very run down and the rooms are awfully dated. That said, the staff were exceptionally friendly and made my stay more enjoyable. The rooms are very noisy so if you're looking for a good nights sleep... More

I booked here with some trepidation given the mixed reviews, but, you know what, it has been fun. Originally I booked 2 nights but had no hesitation in adding a third when I needed to stay longer. It is an old lady of a hotel. You can see it was once grand. It has been assaulted by insensitive and ugly... More

Stayed here for one night while visiting for a surprise 21st meal. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the train station so is ideally situated. The Room was large and clean, but so hot! The old sash window only opened a few inches. Being in the town centre you can here the noise of the traffic outside.... More

I stayed here while attending the university for week. It was very clean and the staff are brilliant and helpful. Unfortunately the room was tiny. Even for a single. And if some used the water the noise was horrendous. On top of the that noise the windows are so old traffic noise was clear as day and people shouting out... More

We stayed on New Year's Eve with a dog and enjoyed our short time here. In need of a refurb but clean, welcoming and a good breakfast! Limited dog walking places nearby but Williamson Park maybe10 or 15 minutes away.

This was our second stay at the Kings Arms, once again we had a large, comfortable family room with a king size and single bed, there were bedside tables, tv, lamps, wardrobe, chest, cupboard, table, settee and chair and still plenty of floor room for us (2 adults, a 12 year old and our dog Rusty). The bathroom was a... More

I stayed here with an old chum from my university days whilst catching up with other alumni over Christmas. We thought ourselves lucky to get rooms in a historic city centre hotel on Christmas Eve and Day at short notice. The staff were very welcoming and we were pleased to be given the wifi password immediately rather than having to... More

The Royal Kings Arms has been part of Lancaster for over 300 years and the current building dates back to the 1870's. Dickens stayed several times and set a story here and John Ruskin was a visitor too. Today it's a value hotel with great character. Three or four minutes minutes from the railway and on the doorstep of the... More

The hotel as per other reviews is dated, room smelled of cigarettes or cigars. BUT! To be honest I don't care, I loved the place it has a certain charm about it. Managed to get the only disabled slot in the car park. Check in was very easy, and the room was as I mentioned, you cant go wrong for... More
