I choose the hotel because it is conveniently right in the middle of Lancaster, not only are the rooms tastefully decorated and modern, the bar was bussing but not loud and the meal was spot on and reasonably priced, with a good selection.

once you cross the pub threshold into the hotel area, you'd not guess you're having a room above what is a lively and popular pub. The owner pays great attention to detail in the rooms. It also serves an excellent English breakfast. There is also a wonderful coffee.
