We followed our sat nav from the motorway along some truly terrifying roads - single track with lots of high hedges and right-angle bends. When we found the hotel we were blown away (partly by the perfectly good road we could have taken...GRRR!) by the place. It is a perfect mix of friendly family B&B/bistro and a high-end hotel/restaurant. The... More

First impressions of this establishment were very good. A lovely location surrounded by wonderful Lancashire countryside. On arrival we were met by a lovely lady in reception, very friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely, modern, spacious and very clean with lovely views over the canal. We booked into the restaurant for evening meal when we arrived. Food in the... More

We were holidaying on a narrowboat and came across The Mill whilst going through the lock directly outside the hotel. We nipped in to get a menu and that evening, after mooring up in Glasson Dock, went for a meal. I have to say this was delicious. We had the 'specials' recommended and were not disappointed. The dining room was... More

We have stayed here twice before and have never been disappointed. The position is good on our journey south and it is in a very pretty setting beside the canal. Our room was very comfortable, large, light, well decorated and with stunning views. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. The food was excellent with lots of choice... More

We stayed here for one night on our journey south. Found it by accident and were very pleased. Its a smart, modern converted mill bang on the canal with a pleasant beer garden for sunny evenings. Our "Signature Double" room was huge, very clean, light and airy with a view across fields. The staff were very friendly and meals (evening and... More

Hi JanandBob980, Thanks for visiting the Mill on your journey south. We are indeed well placed on the tow-path of the canal so guests can enjoy country walks right out the door. I'm just glad you managed to stumble upon us. Please visit again on your next journey north or when travelling southbound. Cheers Chris Hurst More

This is a small hotel nicely decorated and well maintained. The room was pleasant, comfy bed and clean shower room, perfectly serviceable rather than having any wow factor! The walk along the canal next to the hotel is really lovely there were swans on the canal and they had eight cygnets so lovely to see. The hotel is surrounded by... More

Hi WendyB704, We serve home-cooked, freshly prepared dishes and our menu is available to view on-line as reference before arrival. If there is a dish you would like, but not on the menu, just ask on arrival and if we have the ingredients and available notice, we are more than happy to cater to individual needs. Many thanks Chris Hurst More

Hi john j, Thanks for your honest views. Our building was an old working mill, now converted to offer locally sourced food in our pretty lock-keepers restaurant and 16 modern en-suite bedrooms with minimalist decor. The bar and lounge often gets positive comments on it style, space and relaxing ambience. I guess it just did not gel with you, but... More

Room was spacious and clean, all the usual amenities. Bathroom en-suite and well maintained. Dining room was pleasantly decorated with the option to eat out if wanted. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Hi Stephen P, We use locally sourced produce for the majority of our menu and it sure shows in the quality and taste of our dishes. The beer is from the Bowland Brewery, nr Clitheroe and is always complimented by our 'traditional ale' guests. Thanks for sharing Chris Hurst More
