Good value. Friendly. Well situated. Room compact but comfortable. Good breakfast. We would happily stay there again. Twelve minute walk from the railway station but this does involve two steep sections!

An excellent stay in a beautifully refurbished boutique style hotel. Our room was large and comfortable (not all may be this size though!), and the dining first class. Excellent range of local and other craft beers. Very helpful and friendly owners/staff. The cooked breakfast too was just right. Hot and tasty - as opposed to large and dreary as one... More

Our friends had booked in for a couple of nights stay and we joined them for dinner on their first night, excellent menu choice, the service was superb and the quality of the food served was first class, very good value for money. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful throughout and did not hesitate in picking up the phone... More

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and staff who welcomed us, and within minutes they had organised our night out to the theatre - cushions, picnic, taxi and advice. The room was wonderful - comfortable, elegant and well equipped for us, but also with facilities for disabled guests if necessary. Delicious breakfast. We were even lent a towel... More

Stayed 1 night. Room was lovely, shower huge, really fluffy towels. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Had a really tasty meal from a varied but not fussy menu. Hard to choose what to eat!! Worried it may be noisy as a Saturday night - but no disturbance at all so a good night's sleep followed by a 5 star... More

We stayed just the one night for our daughters graduation, but would of been happy to stay longer. The staff really make this place, nothing was too much trouble, and the food was really good. As other people have mentioned the room was a little on the small side, but very comfortable and we didn't go to stay in the... More

Very nice people, slightly out of the centre but close enough to walk. Pub is cozy and the beer was OK. Our room was perfectly adequate, though a bit small. The decoration and cleanliness was very good. The service was friendly and very professional.

My son (age 8) and I decided upon a short half term visit of 2 days to the historic town of Lancaster. A mere 11/2hr train journey and 15min walk from the train station led us to our welcoming abode of The Wagon and Horses. The situation of the hotel is ideal for visiting local attractions with the castle only... More

I never knew Lancaster had a port so was delighted to find this place next to the Lune and on a row of wharfs converted to flats. The interior is immaculate and the room, whilst small, was perfect for our overnight stop. Great food with friendly service. They even made us a packed lunch for day 1 of the Cumbria... More
