Stayed during 'graduation week' for two nights, and the staff were all friendly and chatty, and it was lovely that they seemed to genuinely care that the graduation stay was special....we were not the only family there for that reason. Ate at the pub the first evening, and the food was both interesting and tasty, as well as being plentiful,... More

I wanted this to be a special night as it was my partners birthday which I mentioned when booking and I asked for a nice room , the room was so tiny you couldn't even get ready properly and the fan made an awful noise . Very disappointed and not cheap at £80 ...

We stayed for one night on a Saturday evening. The room was lovely and clean and cosy (although the bed was very small). Breakfast was nice, we had a good cooked breakfast. The pub area was lovely. Would go back.

From the moment we arrived (10.30 pm ish) we were well looked after & made most welcome... this continued throughout our 3 night stay. ALL staff were very accommodating and very nice people, they couldn't do enough for us. (even brought us up a bacon butty one morning when we overslept and missed breakfast) Breakfast was huge and tasty -... More

The room as small but nice with an ample tea tray. We had a view over the river Lune. The promised wi-fi didn't work in the bar, only upstairs. We booked through an agency, Booking.com, and the booking clearly stated that full English breakfast is included in the room rate and we could check out on Saturday, between 08:00 -... More

Good value. Friendly. Well situated. Room compact but comfortable. Good breakfast. We would happily stay there again. Twelve minute walk from the railway station but this does involve two steep sections!

An excellent stay in a beautifully refurbished boutique style hotel. Our room was large and comfortable (not all may be this size though!), and the dining first class. Excellent range of local and other craft beers. Very helpful and friendly owners/staff. The cooked breakfast too was just right. Hot and tasty - as opposed to large and dreary as one... More

Our friends had booked in for a couple of nights stay and we joined them for dinner on their first night, excellent menu choice, the service was superb and the quality of the food served was first class, very good value for money. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful throughout and did not hesitate in picking up the phone... More

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and staff who welcomed us, and within minutes they had organised our night out to the theatre - cushions, picnic, taxi and advice. The room was wonderful - comfortable, elegant and well equipped for us, but also with facilities for disabled guests if necessary. Delicious breakfast. We were even lent a towel... More

Stayed 1 night. Room was lovely, shower huge, really fluffy towels. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Had a really tasty meal from a varied but not fussy menu. Hard to choose what to eat!! Worried it may be noisy as a Saturday night - but no disturbance at all so a good night's sleep followed by a 5 star... More
