We stayed here as a family celebrating a birthday and filled the whole house, which made it especially enjoyable. Parking is very easy. There is a small but pretty garden back & front which affords lovely views from the rooms. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The room we had was outstanding. Large,... More

There isn't much to add to the other reviews. However I do feel it necessary to add our own endorsement of the Ashton. As has been said James is thoughtful but not intrusive. For example we were staying when Lancaster were having their fireworks display and James had booked us a table in a restaurant close in case we wanted... More

As other reviewers have said; you get what you pay for. The Ashton is not cheap, but is comparable in price to staying at a large chain hotel like a Marriott - but that's where the similarity ends. From the lovely welcome with drinks & homemade cake (seriously amazingly carrot cake, GBBO standard) to the beautiful, immaculately clean rooms, there's... More

A stay at the Ashton is not cheap, but the welcome, the quality of the room (particularly the en-suite) and the really great breakfast, combined with being just on the edge of Lancaster, make for a great place to stay.

Stayed at The Ashton for 2 nights for our honeymoon and was astounded at the room. The bathroom was one of the best ive ever seen, very comfortable bed and luxurious surrounding. James was the perfect host and even had a complimentary bottle of prossecco on ice awaiting for our arrival. Great breakfast with everything you could wish for on... More

We stayed for three nights in July and were blown away with how perfect this place was. James was brilliant. He is friendly and helpful without being the least bit intrusive - he seems to magically know what you want before you tell him. It was lovely to be greeted with offers of his delicious baked goods plus tea or... More

A first class B & B in all respects. We had a one night stay on our way to Scotland and wished we had booked a night for our return. From the beautiful room with the fabulous shower,to the great breakfast,we were not disappointed. James is the perfect host, and he organised a restaurant and transport for us that evening. I... More

After several hectic months at work we were really looking forward to the start of our staycation, making our way slowly down to Cornwall. We chose The Ashton for our first night because of the great reviews here - we were not disappointed! We've stayed in some first class hotels - this B&B offers more than most first class places.... It was fabulous. From the wine scone jam and cream on arrival the squishy bed the movies the fabby shower and wonderful smelly treats the newspaper of our choice lying outside our door in the morning to the amazing breakfast spread and (Yes James) the perfect boiled egg and soldiers what more does one need. Heaven. Thank you for looking... More
