We visited the Stork last summer for a day and thought it was brilliant. I have just booked a room for Saturday. The young man on the phone, called Will, was so friendly and efficient. So much so, that we are looking forward to it even more. The staff were very friendly last time we went. But Will deserves credit... More

As locals we eat at the Stork frequently. The food is a bit different and always well cooked. They do gluten free too!The service is very good and extremely friendly- thanks Phillipa! The Inn has lovely open fires and is cosy in winter and there are lovely gardens for the summer. It is located at Conder Green which is in... More

We are regular eaters at the stork and 90% if the time we have really nice food. We always get good service so therefore always leave a substantial tip as we all know catering trade staff are very underpaid for what they do so it's our way of saying thanks. I was absolute disgusted to find out off 3 members... More

we went here with friends for a meal, the place is lovely, cosy and warm, friendly staff, food is different as its South African, well there are English dishes also, but its good to try new things, prices are reasonable and meals are very nicely presented. We tried a platter of south African dishes which was lovely, we had 4... More

visited twice over 5 days-- once at Sunday lunch and later on a midweek evening. Both times proved to be a pleasant experience. At the lunch time visit I was pleased to see that there was an array of choices available not just a sunday roast. Both myself as a vegetarian, and friend who needs GF free food, had choice and... The stork is strongly becoming one of my favourite places to eat. With the relaxed atmosphere, location and quality of food I am yet to be disappointed. I love having a place near by to try different dishes and the South African choices will leave you wanting to go back. For me the most important part is being able to... More

The Stork Inn was recommended by the receptionist at Thurnham Hall, as their restaurant was closed. The pub was quaint, with open fires. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We chose South African main meals and both were delicious. The puddings were good and all reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant. Most main meals have a small or... More

We enjoyed a long weekend at end of November. The weather was unseasonably warm and that matched the welcome. Although a small double room it did have everything we needed. The food was lovely and plentiful! A good size car park and overall we definitely found it good value for money.

We have visited the Stork a couple of times in the past two years, for lunches, to visit the shop and for an early morning snifter prior to a walk down to Glasson Docks along the Towpath on a cold and windy winter's day. Great atmosphere and service each time. The food is well-prepared and plentiful, and the South African... More

We stopped off for a couple of days on our way home, after New Year, from the Lake District. We occupied room 8, which had a great view across the River Conder. We ate at a small table in front of a roaring log fire. The food, as on my earlier visit, was excellent . The service was very good,... More
