We enjoyed a long weekend at end of November. The weather was unseasonably warm and that matched the welcome. Although a small double room it did have everything we needed. The food was lovely and plentiful! A good size car park and overall we definitely found it good value for money.

We stopped off for a couple of days on our way home, after New Year, from the Lake District. We occupied room 8, which had a great view across the River Conder. We ate at a small table in front of a roaring log fire. The food, as on my earlier visit, was excellent . The service was very good,... More

I visited the Stork following a recommendation from a fellow guest at Thurnham Hall. My friend and I had traditional Xmas lunch of turkey and Xmas pudding with Brandy custard. I have to say it was the best Xmas pud I have ever had and I have had plenty in the last fifty years!! The service was impeccable and the... More

Popped in at the weekend, to celebrate my friend Charlotte's return to the UK after a period spent abroad working in the states. The menu varies from the traditional roast dinner to the more exotic and extensive range of South African dishes. I opted for the latter and opted for Eisbein, tender smoked ham hock, served with orange spiced roast... More

Dined here on a Tuesday evening - meals were good and my partner particularly enjoyed the chicken in a cheese sauce - I opted for the South African Lamb Kerrie which was ok but not greatly different from a standard curry -service was a little bit on the slow side but overall a good experience

Rural location with opportunity for pre or post prandial walks along the nearby Lanashire Coastal Way, more so in good weather. Attractive roadside setting with ample parking. Pleasant country pub interior with open fire. Good choice of food, ale wines and spirits as to be expected. Meal was excellent - we chose from the South African menu, a feature of... More

Well, we've just moved to the area so this would be one of our local restaurant/pubs, to go to ourselves, and to take visitors to. But no, no it wont. The place itself is very nice, cosy and comfortable. Regarding the rest I shall be short and sweet, if I can be. We ordered a pint of coke and a... More

Just had a night stop here and really it would be difficult to fault the place. The bedroom was very pleasant, if a touch dated, but none the worse for that. Dinner was really good, as was breakfast. But, what makes any establishment is the staff and I'm happy to say that everyone I came into contact with was pleasant,... More

I can only assume that the experience we had today at The Stork Inn was a glitch, judging by the numerous positive reviews on Trip Adviser. We had planned ahead to visit the Stork Inn halfway through a 10 mile hike. The cosy, welcoming interior and crackling fires were very promising to tired, hungry walkers. We found however, this was... More

We stopped here for a meal after walking part of the Lancashire Coastal Path and what a great find it is. Very welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient staff. Lovely to find so many South African dishes on the menu. Food freshly prepared and delicious. Good selection of beers on tap. Will definitely be visiting here again
